hey everyone, I’ve made multiple trips back to the dealer I bought my ARE V series shell from to try and get them to seal it completely around the front bed corners to keep the water out but they have finally told me I have to live with the gigantic leaks. Why did I pay $1600 for something that isn’t waterproof? Has anyone had this issue or I’d my dealer just lazy? Thanks and picture for attention.

They all leak on 3rd Gens. At least my dealer was upfront with the fact there will always be some water. They did quite a bit to seal the gaps up front but still gets in anyway.

They have done quite a bit on mine as well but I was told it wouldn’t leak, I think that’s what makes me so mad. We got a good rain storm last night and I got probably 2-3 gallons in the bed. Guess I’ll look into a Decked or something to keep everything off the bed and water proof.

You have to realize that in the end it's a truck and not a 4runner. Mine has minor leaks in the front corners, and it's really well sealed too. I have the bed mat so the water goes under it and nothing really gets wet in the bed.

My V Series leaked when I first got it.....I used some silicone sealant and fixed it myself.

First of all, if you have 2-3 gallons in the bed you need to drill some holes in the front to drain. Second, fill those two big gaps and the front of the bed with silicone.

I have an ARE MX and no leaks.. Was a foam weather strip installed on the bed rail before the top was installed? Maybe hop inside the cap and have someone hose the outside to see where your leak is.

My snug top leaked. Got in there and put a shit tone of silicon in there. It seems to have solved the problem.

I have a cx and it leaks like a son of a gun in the back. Parked level the rear carpet wixs water from (who know where) and drips down the bed side. The rear window has skirts that need to be pulled back after closing the tail gate to ensure the rear window seals properly. But still leaks from carpet

As for the front of the bed they are easy. You need flex seal tape from home depot and their flex seal sealant clear or black. Yea the stuffs on tv and believe me this stuff is really good read the reviews. Sealed the hole with the tape then sealed the cracks with the sealant and this hasn't leaked.

Do you have a tailgate seal, that may help your stop your leak. Check out posting Tailgate seal. 2nd page last posting is a picture of mine.

It's a Lund tailgate seal, I got it at a Mills Fleet Farm here in WI. But there is a few on the market all around $25, like Lund, Access, TruXedo, and Extang also a few others. All very close to same. I removed the bumper cushions on the box. So seal is get, no leaks even in touchless car washes. Bulb seal side in towards bed on sides, and bulb side of seal down on bed floor. Cut small 2+" pcs for behind hinges.

I’ll definitely try to silicone it like this, mine isn’t anywhere near this sealed. That may be the problem.

Shockingly mine only leaks from the front, not the rear with the massive open holes.

Mine came with factory tonneau cover on dealer trade. I had to remove corners and silicone (Black) the front also like other poster. Leaked like there wasn't even a tonneau cover on in carwash, and hand wash.
