I picked up my CX Classic about 3 weeks ago after deciding not to go with the Revo. Love the classic so far. Absolutely no leaks, back hatch opens smoothly, and the full top hinge looks like it will last a lot longer than the individual hinges on the Revo. The only thing I don’t like is no dome light but I’m going to eventually wire something up myself.

Dang now I need to rethink my Cap choice for my DCLB Tacoma. Plan to Camp but like full glass look. Maybe Leer over ARE???

I'll just add to the experience here. Just got an ARE CX Evolve installed. Most all of the bells and whistles, about $3500 out the door. I know, it's a lot. I called around for a few quotes but I've got more money than patience I reckon.

I like how it looks for the most part. My rear glass overhang is also pretty substantial, but there is no air gap with the weatherstripping. The rear latch, however, seems totally f'ed. The keyless lock only engages maybe 10% of the time (based on what I can hear), and I've only been able to actually get it to *kinda* lock once. The key will lock the door when you try the handle once, but if you try the handle twice it will unlock itself.

The installer was clearly struggling with the back glass, but I thought they had it sorted out when I left. So I can add to every other time I didn't properly check someone else's work before leaving. I'll head back tomorrow and see what they can do, but I'm not hopeful. I wish I had noticed this before immediately getting home and throwing on the Prinsu top rack.

I got myself a ARE Revo for my SBDC-seldom seen such poor quality of craftsmanship! It is a total leaker-windows, around the front where the topper meets the bed. Window mechanism broke off upon first opening of the window. Locking mechanism is poorly adjusted.
Will have to raise the topper and re-seal it properly. Also have to seal off the windows.
Anybody have experience with this type of work? How heavy is the topper? How did you lift it without cracking the roof? What material did you use to seal off the windows and the topper/bed area? Any other hints or tips?

Got my ARE CX REVO in May 2024 for my 2019 Off-Road short bed and would not recommend it. Door always look’s open even adjusting the latches. Dealers and ARE are not help. With the best look and latch settings, I have to push down on both the left and right door corner to get best compression. Still people tell me the cap is open. Leaks at front corners where the bed and cap joins and at the door handle above the tailgate if driving in heavy rain. Also, the front stock cap sliding window only opens halfway so you lose the full cab feed thru width.

I had the same issue with the leak from the front and the sides. The front I solved by taking the bed off, taking the plastic protectors off the bed side, sealing the openings with silicone, install the plastic protectors again, run a weatherstrip around the bed, install the bed cap again. Caution, do not shimmy it too much back and forth because the weatherstrip will move and break. Then I took silicone putty and sealed off the front edges again. Do not be stingy with the putty!
For the rear door, I took the hinge catch from the topper side and turned it around. That gives you an extra few mm to tighten the rear door.
For the tailgate I installed a flap on the bed covering the gap between the bed and the tailgate.
Only leak I have nor is the front window and the side windows, as I have the ones that slide open. Hope that helps for now.
