Headers arent needed for sound, though they may help a little bit. Muffler dictates more of the sound.

From what I understand headers are kind of a pain in the ass for our trucks. If you get short tube headers you need to know how to weld and if you buy long tube headers you need to wire up some sort of o2 sens sim to make up for the removed front cats... Why can't they just make it easy!

What is your question? Why do you think you need headers? If you want a little more power than, yes they can help.. Do you NEED them, NO. I have a 6" lift with 33's with no power problems at all. Infact I had 35's and still was fine. Spend your money on other stuff like lift, coil overs, wheels and tires, etc.

I like the sound of the TRD cai and exhaust combo and thats what I would have on my truck but the TRD exhaust pipe is same diameter as stock so I had a Magnaflow straight threw muffler put on mine and makes a pretty nice tone. it was only cost me $150 dollars for what im guessing would be similar gains?

Only pictures I have to the truck sense I had the lift done. Countersteer Off road rims, 285/75 open country m/t's, 3" front revtek spacer with 1" block and 2" rear AAL and shock extenders (for now) in the rear.

I wanted 3" of lift all around so when I haul my quad and or trailer everything stays level rather then having it look like a Baja Prerunner drivin down the interstate. Also, if you lift it that much in the back your gonna need a carrier bearing drop spacer to prevent our 2 piece drive line from vibrating under aceleration. The guy who lifted my truck installed this for free shortly after the lift when I realised i needed it.

The flowmaster 40 series is kinda loud for me. But I have a regular cab, so the exhaust tip is closer to me then you guys, I think....anyways it still sounds nice though

ya they are 16" rims. I'm still in the process of triming as little as i need not to rub. There is some stupid worthless plastic shapes in the front you have to trim with my tires and part of the mudflap rubs as well. I used a circular air powered friction cutter and it cut threw like butter.
