I got the Morimotos. Love the look and they are brighter than stock but not as bright as the HIDs I had in my '14. If Morimoto came out with an HID version, I'd bite the bullet and buy another set. Probably would buy the Custom 54 with HIDs if I could do it over again.

I picked up my TRD Sport today and halfway home it got darker so I had my dad switch with me and drive behind me so I could admire the Full LED Headlights! If you’re in the market for a new truck I’d 100% recommend getting the Full LED Package. Looks so clean.

Left headlight on the picture has turn signal on, it’s why it’s orange and dimmed on some parts. The DRL blinks orange with turn signals.

OEM LED assemblies are the best, you can see the full review covered here. If wanting replacement LEDs the best performing replacement LEDs by far are the Hikari Ultras covered in this post, and the Morimoto 2stroke 3.0s covered here. These have better focus and output intensity than the competition. They are the only replacement LEDs I would recommend.

Halogen replacement HIDs are not advised. The halogen assembly has uplight allowance, specifically aiming light above the cut off for overhead sign illumination calibrated to the halogen output. Running an HID capsule produces significantly more light that the halogen uplight was designed for, and as a result produces significant glare to oncoming drivers. Replacement HIDs are definitely not advised.

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
I love the sequential turn signals as well!

The OEM LED lights are the bomb!

I'll never comprehend why Toyota makes it impossible to get OEM LEDS in an access cab....

    Tell me about it!!!

I was searching for a army green 21 AC TRD Sport with LED lights, and do you know how hard it was to find one? Finally decided that if I am spending $40,000 on a new truck then it HAS to have LED lights. It was non-negotiable. I ended up finding one or two trucks that matched my specifications, but they sold within a day of finding them. Finally decided to bite the bullet and special order one.

You are right, it's super hard finding an access Cab with the LED headlights. It shouldn't be hard considering how awesome they are and how most people will agree they look amazing.

Try and get a dealer to buy you the set of lights as part of the deal and get the harness yourself. Maybe they’ll bite to sell the truck...

Its hard finding one for sure. If you look on autotrader or cars.com and set the distance from you to unlimited, I'm sure they're out there.

Worst case scenario you can special order one and wait 5 months to get it like I did.

    This is my unicorn
    - TRD Sport model 4x4
    - 4DR
    - Manual transmission
    - Exterior color: Cement
    - Cloth interior
    - LED headlights/side markers (Technology package)
    - Blackout package

Has yet to be seen. I check both side religiously but those sites are used by dealers who want to use them. I figure the delay is the factory output issues in MX.

Bulbs have their light source (filiment) in a very precise position. This includes the diameter of the filiment. The housing is design around this position to focus light in very specific areas. Move the filiment half a millimeter in any direction and the light won't be the same.

The biggest problem I've seen with after market lights is the cutoff. Normally you want a small percentage of glare that points up to illuminate stop signs. It's very hard to make and bulb get the glare just right. It's usually too much which looks like high beams to other drives or too little which gives very poor global illumination.

There are some more expensive LED bulbs that have gotten much better but it's still not perfect. HIDs have basically fallen off the earth. They are more expensive, have problems like warmup, much lower efficiencies, and less reliability.

Stock LED's are nice, but H9 bulbs will get you there(output wise) without the cool look.

My ‘20 OR does. Absolutely love them!

As I stated earlier in the thread these are the best headlights I’ve ever had on any vehicle I’ve owned! I drive frequently at night on dark roads in the mountains and out in the desert and find I rarely have need or use my driving lights.

The only drawback I’ve seen to the LED’s is twice when driving in heavy snow I’ve had them get partially covered by snow. The first time it happened they were maybe 50% covered but I was still able to see.

If you have the option to get the OEM headlights you should do it. I don’t really see a downside to getting them.

Agreed! Compared to my WRX OEM Led 2016 and my TSX 2014, these headlights are so much better!!!!!
