I just wanted to jump on the bandwagon here...

I do a lot of night driving in remote areas, and I am pretty obsessed with headlight performance. My 2020 OR has the factory LEDs, and they are simply the best factory headlights I have ever encountered on any vehicle, ever. Once you experience them you will never want to drive with dim/yellowish halogen headlights again.

I supplemented the factory LED headlights with a grill mounted Rigid lightbar wired to go on with the high beams, and for all practical purposes that setup has pretty much the same visibility as driving in the daytime.

Best headlights I've ever drove behind are my 2021 OEMs, I actually kinda enjoy night driving again.

Is the LED package available to order with an SR5? Or is it only for the TRDs?

You can make it work, PM @Puppypunter

...but not available from factory. You’d need to DIY

I enjoy the adventure of guessing where the road is at night with my stock 2018 headlights.... But really, what was toyota thinking with the halogen headlights... my kids have dollar store flashlights that are brighter.

I have done a couple HID retrofits and purchased a couple vehicles with OEM LED headlights. spending a little bit more for the OEM LED or HID headlights in vehicles is absolutely worth it. Less hassle than doing a retrofit for nearly the same output. I will not have another vehicle without either the better headlights from the factory or a proper retrofit.

I ordered mine with the factory L.E.D. headlights, and I couldn't be happier with the light output.

I spent ~$1,600 to retrofit my 2016 with OEM LEDS and I thought it was money well spent. $500 is crazytown cheap. I don't plan to ever purchase another vehicle without the OEM LED option if it's available.

If you don’t mind me asking, what parts (other than the OEM headlights) did you need? How painful was the retrofit?

I wish I had purchased a truck with the factory LEDs but that never even crossed my mind until after i bought my truck and joined this forum a few months ago. My SR5 came with the halogen projectors that were just horrible. After doing tons of reading here I ended up buying the upgraded Tungsram Nighthawk Xenon halogens. They were MUCH better than the factory bulbs and they put a lot more light on the road for sure. But I still wasnt happy so after reading some others that recommended the new Hikari Acme-X bulbs I bought those and now I am satisfied. They were a breeze to install and they put just as much light on the road as the Tungsram bulbs did, plus the color is white, not yellow. I just ordered another set for the high beams too. So if youre like me and unsatisfied with your projector halogens, I could not recommend the Hikari's more. They are your best option besides upgrading to the factory LED housings.

Lamps and the adapter harness. I used he who shall not be named (7 weeks on a promised 2 week delivery time, but the harnesses came and were exceedingly high quality).

Less painful than you’d thing. The hardest part was releasing the bumper clips where it meets the fender. It took me maybe 2 hours start to finish. Tape every surface for protection. I taped all mine and removed a small bit at the end for fitting and had to reposition a lamp and put a 1/8” mark in a lamp in a location you’d never see and I’m still talking to myself about it.

I've found my halogens do a fine job and won't be messing with them. Couldn't care less about the aesthetics.

I like that they have put driver in the bulb housing. I never liked having a driver box hanging off the back of the bulb by a wire.
