Are my coils shot or what is causing this?

Early this spring I installed a 885/dakar OME kit with nitro-sport shocks all around. The front shock thread no longer has enough thread to tighten down the rubber cushion. Temporarily I installed a couple washers on top to keep everything from being loose.

I don't have an after market bumper or winch on the truck so I would expect this to be unusual coil spring sag.

Anyone else experience this with their OME?

I searched seems old 885's were susceptible to sag, I'll be tearing the struts apart this weekend for a closer look at whats going on.
