Are my leaf springs shot?!?!

    First time posting here but I'm in the same boat. 04 Tacoma with 100k miles and with just ten 2x4s in the bed truck looks like it has 400lbs in the bed.

    Do you have a 5 lug or 6 lug Tacoma? The 6 lugs are SOA (spring over axle) which results in flat looking leaf springs, which is normal. Unless you put an aftermarket pack in that's designed with more arch, but the stock Toyota leafs are supposed to look flat. If they have a negative arch then yeah, they're shot. Being that you have a 2004, if the springs are still factory then they're probably due for replacement, if you carry substantial weight around then I'd look into a heavier duty leaf pack. The stock ones don't do so well carrying much weight.

    5 lug Tacomas are SUA (spring under axle) and have a lot more arch from the factory.

    6 lug axles. Yea springs are factory still. I was looking at doing bil 5100s all around but now thinking about doing leaf springs also. i do haul some heavy loads with it.
