I don't think it would be undrivable at all, I didn't like how stiff the 600s were for me but I still daily'ed it for over a year that way. The nice thing about stiffer springs is you can lose the sway bar for more articulation without much ill effect because the stiffer springs make up for it

Appreciate that. Still looking good after having it 17 years.

I’m running 881 and a Dakar 2.5 leaf pack in the rear. I have a huge amount of rake due to me running 0 on the front blisteins. I’m rubbing when I back up on the left side.

my goal is to upgrade to the 883 for more clearance.

I have a 2nd gen, but the Dakars on my truck ride WAY better than stock and can carry more weight also. I would pass on the AAL and buy the leaf packs.

    @SellyKlater @jbrandt @eon_blue

Suspension came in today, still waiting on the leaf springs. I went with 882 springs per @jbrandt's advice. Spring choice was difficult because I wanted something as tall as the 883s but made for stock bumper/no winch. I was looking online and calling around to get the technical specs on them, and I got all kinds of mixed info.

Wheelers, who I bought it from, seems to agree with @jbrandt that the 882s aren't as gnarly/stiff as the 883s, but give the same lift, more than the 881s. Toytec says the 881s give 1.5" of lift, while the 883s give 2.5" of lift (roughly) while being made for a heavier bumper. I called ARB directly and the guy seemed to have no idea what he was talking about, saying I couldn't run 882s. Wheelers rep said he runs the 882s on the same truck and likes them.

Bottom line, I'll be running the same rims/tires as @SellyKlater and hope the truck sits level with the 882s vs the 883s, without looking too tall running 33" tires. I've got a Dakar leaf kit with separate Dakar AALs coming, I'm sure I can find a way to ensure its leveled. I'm just hoping I don't lift it past @SellyKlaters truck. If it is, maybe I can run 34" tires to make up for the extra space between the wheel and the truck that just looks goofy.

Yea I think you'll be fine. I have 881s on my single cab 4cyl and that gives me about 2.5" up front with no extra weight. With the Dakar pack with no AAL it sets relatively level. With the AAL and 882s you should be sitting great.

I have this same setup. I've been debating going with 880's though. But I think the ride quality will be the same.

I have the Dakar’s with 882s and 285/70/17 tires and I rub the frame. I just installed spacers and that fixed it. I’d imagine you’d need spacers too if you plan on running 34s depending on your rims offset. Not to mention you’ll have to hammer the pinch weld too.

I know @SellyKlater is running 33s with no rub, same truck and suspension

Have you had any issues with "CV joints" and your 882 springs?

No issues. The boots are closer together now than compared to my previous setup (Bilsteins, stock springs) but they don’t touch/rub. I also I also have a diff drop though.

Don't have to worry about CV axles on a 2wd since they are non-existent

Should I grease bolts? Anyone have torque spec for front shocks, rear struts, and leafs for an 02 prerunner?

    Here ya go
    TORQUE SPECS PG1.jpg

    TORQUE SPECS PG2.jpg

Don't need to grease any bolts, the only things you want to add lubrication to are the leaf spring bushings if they are poly bushings. If you have the stock OEM/rubber bushings no need to grease them.

If they are poly, use PTFE silicone grease on them, not the black moly grease you use on the driveshaft. The silicone stuff is usually white/clear, usually the bushings will come with a small tube of it.

I used a long crowbar between the top of the arm and the bottom of the frame to push it down. Takes some force.
