Hey guys I am looking for some feed back from frist hand experience on the ARE LS2 or the Leer 700 series tonneau cover. I am trying to decide between the two. They each have features that I like. Not sure which one is built better? Let me hear your experience and opinions on these two covers.
It will be for my 2011 BCSB.

I have an ARE tonneau cover. It has been on my truck for 8 years. The color match is perfect and has held up great.....If I was buying one now I would NOT buy a one piece solid cover.A roll up or easily removable cover would fit my needs better. It makes the truck bed very limited on carrying capacity.

i had an ARE on a previous truck. same as Roadking- it was a pain for hauling anything higher than the bed

edit: it looked nice though. if i had to do it again, i wouldn't. this current truck i bought with a pace edwards aluminum rolling tonneau. i like it better than the ARE lid, but it does take up some room in the bed. not too bad, since it's a long bed, but still

Yeah that's what I keep going back and forth with is hauling items taller then the bed rails. I was looking at the roll n lock but I just don't know. Lol thanks for your reply.

I did a roll n lock and added yakima tracks. So I can put a rack over the bed and still have access to most of the bed. Much like the new retrax.

I have an Undercover Classic on my '06 DCSB... I have been using it for almost 14 years. It is strong, durable, and lightweight, much more waterproof than the rollup covers, and if I need to carry taller items, I can remove it by myself in about 3 minutes.

I've never owned a rollup type cover, but have known several people who have had issues with them leaking.

Any pics of your roll n lock & racks? So many covers to choose from, how do you like yours? I’m trying to narrow it down, lol.

The best bet is a Retrax XR with the built-in track to allow rack system like Yakima. But they retail for $1800. But I have seen them for more like $1200, try www.tonneaucovered.com . I got mine before this was available. But honestly, I still think about getting one. As building mine cost an extra $100 + hardware. And mine is good but that setup is far better I think. My pics are on my phone. I will see if I can find them and post them up.
