Wow. I can't believe all the people who paid MSRP and MSRP+.. I guess maybe I am frugal and behind the times. I am also 50 plus and could affoprd it but I guess I still can't justify paying that. But I sure do love the way it looks. Maybe at some point I might get over my frugality:turtleride:

Wow! I really miss Denver (lived out there for 14 years) but hate those outrageous mark-ups. My deal at $700 below MSRP is sounding better everyday. Feeling like I got really lucky!

Live in SoCal and couldn't find a dealer with any in stock and willing to do MSRP. Had to go all the way to Oregon just to get one for MSRP.

$599 doc fee? Doc fees in Texas are capped at like $169. When I bought Tundra the finance dudes tried to tack on a $599 fee not once but 2 different times. I said give the keys to my trade back. Got a bunch of BS when asked what it was for.

I agree with you normally, but if you want a pro, you gotta pony up, dealers won’t move on them. MSRP is hard to find, most add even more to it.

You did get lucky!! Good for you!!

Same here. I’m from SoCal and getting mine from Oregon in the next couple of months. At least my search is over.

Yeah the doc fees here are horrendous. None of the dealers I've spoken with will even budge one dollar on those fees. They are set in stone. They will mess with the price, but it's amazing how they react to the doc fee. This has been my experience with six dealers here.

I finally put a deposit down on one coming in on the 12th for 44,100 with an MSRP of 44,783. So it was $683 off MSRP. Other offers from dealers fell through because apparently dealers don't want to trade their Pros to other dealers. Their doc fee is a crazy $700, but the tax is cheaper in that county so it evens out to just under the $600 that all the other dealers around here charge.

Manipulating doc fees can be viewed as discriminatory pricing. All of our cars have a $499.50 d&h that we have to show. I just reduce the price by that amount.

Be careful with that tax plan. Generally you pay vehicle taxes based on your address, not the dealer's address. They may not have to charge you the tax up front, but you'll end up paying it when you register the truck.

Yeah I was confused by all that at first. In Alabama, you pay the tax for the county you purchase it in, as long as you also live in AL. If I bought it in TN, then I'd pay the taxes from my own county here.

That makes sense why they were so firm. I've read some states have a law that says if you charge the fee to one person, you have to charge the same exact fee to everyone. Didn't know AL was one of them though.

I didn't reaize that about the doc fees either. I guess it makes sense otherwise it could be descrimination . I am in the process of buying a new Honda accord and doc fees are $499. Asked if that was negotiable . They said no but dropped the price of the car to match competitors doc fee of $299.

Hey if anyone is in the Asheville NC area, I was trying to get a "base" white Pro manual they just got in, but was too much of a hassle for me to get the truck to SF. MSRP is just under $43k, and that's all they're asking. They had it on cars.com for $40,600, and I called them out on it. They said it was a "mistake"
Anyway, reach out to Lori in internet sales. She was super helpful.

Why would anyone in their right mind pay over msrp for it? Go sell somewhere else.

The Bay Area is crazy. Dublin Toyota has a white one listed for $63k. I asked if they would negotiate. I was told, thanks but no thanks. That the car would sell for asking in a few days. Guess what? Its now at "only" $53k.

But you know, if its really what you want, and you have the money, thats how the market works right?

CB with a stick is the truck I want too. I vow to get one one of these days. And if I have the means, I'll pay a few Gs over if the dealer refuses to budge.

Come save your G'$ and buy at MSRP in Oregon and Washington State.

Also as important is the trade value you negotiate with.
I agreed on trading my Off Road at high kbb book in very good condition.
