Has nothing to do with being special, I just like that color lol

Actually f they would have had Cavalry Blue, Blazing Blue, Indigo Blue, Royal Blue, Navy Blue, or any other color Blue in a TRD Pro with a manual trans... Instead of VooDoo Blue I would have gone with that too.

The only choice for me was VooDoo Blue or White and have it wrapped, but I am a perfectionist and have yet to see a wrap I am 100% happy with not to mention that meant waiting for the truck to come in and then waiting for it to be wrapped... No thanks!

My dealer told me right off that they cannot take money off MSRP. I think Toyota sets the price for the area.

Your dealer flat out lied if they told you that. A Manufcturer can not set the retail price. That is why it is called Manufacturers SUGGESTED Retail Price (MSRP)

Dealers are generally sneaky, lying, shifty and deceptive. It is what it is, you just have to play the game. I have been told on a few car buying occasions "We can not move off of MSRP"

Guess what, like I said before, of the 30+ cars I have owned, I have only paid MSRP on paper, on a couple occasions. But then got what I wanted off MSRP in extras that I was going to purchase after the fact anyway SO it was still technically a win.

The only reason dealerships hold MSRP or ADD ON after the fact is because desperate or uneducated people will pay it. The old saying "A sucker is born every minute" is absolutely accurate when it comes to buying cars.

Ask the average person and they will have no idea what MSRP even stands for. They will not know the differences between "list price", "asking price", "invoice price" and MSRP... They will have no idea what "hold back" is or how it works, they will not know what they can or can't negotiate away. For instance, you ALMOST never have to pay "processing fees" or "destination charges" or "documentation fees" I never pay those fees without a fight, if I do pay them at all, I negotiate something for free to offset the cost, tire upgrades, added accessories, service plans, part store credit, car washes, gas fill ups whatever I can get.

Here is some solid info from consumer reports for those who are willing to pay all the fees dealers attempt to impose.

I’m in the DC metro area and I have been hunting for a Tacoma TRD Pro for a few months now. The dealer market adjustment price is quite frankly, insane. No midsize truck should sell for $50K plus. Most TRD Pros were $55K sticker and dealers wouldn’t budge a penny. So yes, some person with money to burn is buying the 19 Pros at sticker.

Fast forward to today, I finally bought a 2018 Tacoma TRD Pro for $2,500 under MSRP. Got her in Cav Blue (I like the color). It wasn’t easy as I actually walked out and was pulling out of the parking lot when the sales man came out to say “deal”. They had the truck listed for sale AT msrp for Veterans Day. Just be patient and walk away if needed. If they want to make a sale and your offer is fair, they’ll do it. I’m coming from a Tundra and so far I love the Pro!

Nice score, I really like the CAV blue as well. I looked and looked for a MT version to no avail and ended up ordering a 2019 instead.

Personally I wasn’t a fan of the snorkel in the 19’s and the stealerships in the metro routinely told me you “cannot” order Pro’s. As they’re only allocated a certain number of Pro’s and they get what they get. Buying a tundra was an easier experience but I guess to buy a Pro it’s the way dealers operate.

I hope you didn't go back to one of those Lying ass dealers and give them your business! You can absolutely order a pro...
I was not a fan of the Snorkel either that is why I ordered my my 2019 pro without a Snorkel!

I bought my Pro way out of the metro at a smaller dealer. No way I was going back to the shady sales managers types.

I test drove a TRD Pro. Loved it. Dealer refused to budge on pricing in South Florida. Went with TRD Off Road instead.

Thanks. Fixed. I filled out my profile here when I was sure to get a 19 Pro or OR.

My fallback was a 19’ OR with the premium package. Would have been happy with that as well.

Buddy who works at dealership told me you pay sticker price on the pros. No negotiations.

I would walk away from that dealership and right into one that would negotiate. NO QUESTION. There are a few that won't and more that will.

That's what Karl Malone told me, but I got them down to 1500 over. They wanted 4000. I got tired of dickering, but got an extra 1000 for my 2017 POS AT.

I pulled the veteran thing, and it worked mostly.

The southern New Mexico dealers order them routinely.

It's just the demographics of my area. The demand is high and people around here can afford it. I got a nice chunk off my new 18' I got at that same dealerhship.

Correct. Demand per area matters quite a bit. For example, try finding a Pro in the Pacific North West for less than MSRP. It’s almost impossible.
