I’m looking to trade my 2017 Golf R MT for an 18 pro. I got my R at $500 less than msrp here in SoCal and that’s a huge miracle. I’m patiently waiting for something like that to happen with the TRD PRO. Specially since I want a MT.

I came from an off road tacoma and haven’t got used to being low and tilting every time I enter a shopping center. I also miss the bed space for my surf stuff and other outdoor activities. The car is amazing and fun to drive but apparently I’m a truck guy.

Keep in mind production numbers are low for the TRD PRO. Most dealers only get one or two at a time if any at all. Compare that to the RS and I know of some dealers with 6+ rotting on the lot for 200 plus days! It's part of the reason I got such a good deal on mine. MSRP is best I could do for the TRD PRO. I could see the PRO's coming off of MSRP across the board in the future but probably not for the limited yearly color versions (e.g., Cement for '17, Calvary Blue for '18).

Absolutely. I’m fully aware of that. I have a deposit at 3 different dealerships that take msrp. One of them allowed me to “build one” but it’s due at the end of March :rain:

Just straight up MSRP here in SC for mine, and got a damn good allowance for the trade! So more like $2500 under the way I look at it.

Just got a quote on an inbound Pro today: $50,230 + Tax, no incentives. Take it or leave it.
    43,520 Base MSRP
    318 Factory Installed Options
    995 Freight and Delivery
    $44,833 Total MSRP
$49,731 Before Dealer Fees & Accessories
    $4,898 Market Adjustment

I paid MSRP. 41k. Didn't feel bad about it at all. My father-in-law is a broker (and a miser). I wasn't going to buy it without a discount, but dealer wasn't budging (I get it now that I see the demand for the dumb things). Father-in-law asked if I liked it and I said "hell yeah". He gave me the go at that point. His thought was that a Pro MT is going to sell easily with terrific resale price if I decided to unload it because there just aren't very many of them.

I'm sure people in the 70s said the same thing about the land cruiser. Approx $3200msrp in 1978. Never know what values will do 40yrs later. https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1978-TOYOTA-LAND-CRUISER-FJ-40--188629

    :notsure:

Or even for a 1st gen pickup. Doesn't show sale price tho.

Well, if it helps, I literally went from a 2018 Raptor to a 2018 TRD Pro, and I’m very happy behind the wheel of this mini rig! You won’t be disappointed. It’s not better than my Raptor was, but it sure is a lot more sensible, and the 6 speed makes it fun to drive IMO

My local dealer here west of Philadelphia has a powder blue Pro that has a $5K premium on it. They just sold it this week to a guy in Alaska(!), who’s apparently paying another $4K to have it shipped to him.

I got my 17' Cement at 42k + the Pro Graphics package before taxes. I was pretty happy, even more so knowing that Cement Pros had a limited run. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
    Super examples!

Question is how many of those units were produced? How many modern Tacomas are rolling out the door? Is the PRO really distinct enough from the other Tacomas to bump it up into rare air?

You know, air that leads to commentator phrases like "this example is 1 of X built and 1 of Y known survivors and 1 of Z that anyone spent the $ to restore.

(And how much cash was laid out for each of those restorations above? Wonder if it was actually profitable, or just hobby losses?)

Keep in mind that restoration of mechanical bits and sheet metal, while challenging, is a much easier process that electronic wizardry. Finding someone to refurbish that stuff in 40 years should be exciting.

If 40 years from now there is a flawless or restored '17 Pro around, that rolls big bucks at BJ, I hope the owner was a member here and comes back and posts up their success!

I'll happily admit I was errant in my thoughts and offer hearty congratulations! :hattip::bowdown:

In fact, I'll just let this go on record now, so whoever can find it via searching then. 'Cause in 40 years I'll be long gone from this old world!

West of Philly too. They have a $4k markup at my dealer and won’t budge. Inventory is pretty low around here.
