Are raptor lights legal? I got the lights installed and after looking how bright these lights are at night. It made me wonder if these raptor lights are legal? I may get the on/off switch.

I see people driving around high beams all the time, low iq morons but ive never seen them pulled over.

As far as raptor lights I think they are fine, ive seen people use led on their hood rack, bumper etc, super bright but again , never seen one pulled over.

Hell Ive seen a BMW with police lights... Honda too...

I think the raptor lights were a DOT standard thing. It was because the ford raptors were wider than a normal truck. So I don’t think you’ll have a problem
    * this is not legal advice ;)

    Check your state laws.

    My local laws state:
    Lamps 62
    ...
    Strength of front lamps

    (9) No motor vehicle shall carry on the front thereof more than four lighted lamps that project a beam having an intensity of over 300 candela.

So in my region, if each raptor light outputs less than 300 candela, they're OK to run in conjunction with headlights. This is the letter of the law. In practice, a traffic cop isn't likely to distinguish between your raptor lights and DOT clearance lights.

Depends on how pissy the cop wants to be and how knowledgeable they are. Since they are required for wide vehicles could it be misleading or illegal for them to be on a vehicle they don't belong on maybe? Given the amount of them that are out there I doubt it would be an issue besides yours look obnoxiously bright compared to most.

    Technically? Probably
Real world, I doubt you’ll get any trouble.

if you think they’re bright, they are probably too bright, in regards to being courteous to others.
You could request SAE certs from MFG, but they’ll probably laugh as they add your email to spam.

I looked online and could not really find anything specific about it
Being illegal. I need to get the kill switch.

I got these lights at YOTA Leds and it is really easy to install.

Where I am, it has to be amber or natural colour and not blinding, so its fine.

You'd have to be an unmitigated wanker to get them to pull the code book out for raptor lights.

Uncovered LED bars are an issue for so regions (rightfully so)
