Are Snug top still the best?

Always owned nothing but snug top . Just read they were bought out by Leer and moved to mexico. Since 2016. Do they have the same quality ? I could stand on the roof with no issues .

 

From my experience with 3 SnugTops and an ARE I think they are the best product.

 

I have a Leer from around 2013 or 2014, and I can stand on it with no issues.

 

Never had a SnugTop, but I've had two Leer's (purchased in 2008 and in 2023) and I've loved both. They sustained some mild abuse, but were fine. Have a friend with a Century and he's had some quality issues with it (rear door is misaligned, and shell has moved on him a couple times). Have another friend with an ARE and she likes it, except it leaks when it rains, but that could be more of an installation issue.

 

I really like mine. Fit and finish is excellent, and I can't compare it to others as this is my first topper. But with the new version of the latches for the SmartCap, I would've gotten that had those been available 2 years ago.
