Are spacers required?

Hey everybody, I’ve got a question for anyone who may have experience with these rims.

I recently bought Dick Cepek Torques for my 2015 Tacoma, and they look awesome. However, when I got them installed, the people installing them, who I trust, noted that they were having a tough time balancing them, and that there seemed to be a wheel spacer that was required for the wheels that was missing with my order.

I followed up with Tire Rack, and they informed me that there isn’t any spacer made for those rims for the truck, and that it’s just how they were put on is what is causing issues.

I find that very hard to believe, as the truck shakes at 50-60 mph, which it obviously didn’t do before, and I personally inspected the rims to see if everything was mounted correctly.

Does anyone have any experience with these rims, and any insight on this?

    Thanks!

Most likely balance issues causing the shaking. I don’t think any company makes a wheel that requires spacers to be ran

Sounds like balance issues to me, spacers shouldnt affect that much. If you want an at-home solution and have a way to reinflate the tires, I've had great success with dynabeads as a balancing aid, in fact I'll probably be adding some to my truck in the near future.

The center bore on these wheels are 110 mm. Your hub is 106 mm. You need a 110-106 plastic hubcentric ring to get the wheel to run true on your hub, probably the "spacer" your install shop is referring to. Call up The Tire Rack and ask for hubcentric rings. If they won't ship you any, order a set for cheap on Amazon.

Note this ring shouldn't be needed to balance the tire, since the balancing machine uses a cone. However, missing the ring can cause vibes on your truck.
