Are Subaru Tweeters Worth My Time and Money?

I will eventually end up buying speakers. pioneers, jbls, or kickers sound like the best.

 

For $90+ you can upgrade all of your door speakers that can have tweeters in them. That will be a bigger difference than this. Crutchfield.com is where a lot of people go. If you hit the sales right you can get all speakers front and rear for under $100 with everything you need to install. Might spend a little more depending on brands of speaker but that's worth the upgrade. IMO you don't need really expensive speakers if you're running the stock head unit because it wont push enough power to make the different in top of the line speakers (bass wise) you will notice a bass upgrade but mostly the clarity.

Does the Subaru upgrade make the system too crisp with stock door speakers still in place?

I understand a good tweeter is a good tweeter, but without the other speakers being changed out is it just a high-end sizzle-fest of treble? Or does it remain listenable?

 

I think it’s worth the ~$100, but I don’t think it was a drastic difference like a lot of people say.

 

I’ll sell you my speakers. I did the 250 kicker speaker upgrade. They were only used for a couple months before I upgraded. I’ll sell them for $150

 

If OP isn't interested, curious what you could do the door speakers for? Wish I could have snagged this before I bought the tweeters yesterday!

I just recently installed the tweeters and yes; it's a night and day difference to me. I like my music loud and clear. That said, I'm installing the front door kickers tonight. I can write back on those, as well.

Definitely worth it. Then you need to do the Kicker upgrade as well.

 

In my 2002 Tacoma I'm running Kicker KS series 1"dia tweeters in the factory mounted door location along with Alpine 2 way speakers in all four doors .the sound quality is excellent !!!!

The rest of my system consists of

Pioneer 8400nex head unit

(2) Alpine amps, one for the door speakers and the other for the subwoofer


Subwoofer enclosure with (2) Pioneer 8" shallow mount subs

Do these subaru tweeters work for a second gen(2013 Tacoma) or just for 3rd gen?
