When you read about complaints on the clutch, check the complainant's truck info. The V6's 6-speed manual has a known problem with clutch throwout bearing shaft wear, which has been address with either a Toyota service bulletin or URD's sleeve kit. The I4's 5-speed doesn't have this issue.

 

When I seen this, it made me feel a lot better about buying a Taco. I find that when it comes to the internet it brings out more of the worst things in a product then the best. I found being on other vehicle forums it was the something. Everyone has more complaints about their vehicles then good things to say about them. But there is other people on the forums who rave about how good their vehicles are. I find that a lot of the complaints to when it comes to this forum is that the complaints are minor. Because honestly if Toyota was that bad of a product then no one would buy it. No product, especially now a days is perfect. All companies have their faults and when it come to the internet they are magnified. I bet you if we didn't have the internet then have of these complaints would never be heard, no matter how big or small they really are. Some people just like making mountains out of mole hills.

I don't think it's so much that people just come on here to say, "Hey look, I bought this POS truck!" Frustration when you are having trouble fixing a problem is going to be vented, and here where someone might have some idea what to do is a great place for it.

Also, if everything was 100% fine, I never would have been on TW. I found it when I was looking for solutions to a problem. With any product you tend to ignore it when it does what it should be doing, and ask for help when it's not. So it's sampling error, no one talks about getting in their truck, starting it up, and going to work because it's supposed to do that.
