Are the 6112/5160 the best suspension for me?

Hi all new to tacomas I have a 23 TRD OR and was just getting ready to get some wheels tire and lift. I been told the bilsteins are great for daily and weekend warrior off-road. My plan was to run 255/80/R17 recon grapplers and do a 2” front lift and a 1” rear. My main thing I found was you get the bilsteins for best bang for buck or the kings for the high end. Is there no middle suspension around the 2000$ mark that is better then the bilsteins that make sense? Thanks again and looking forward to spending time on the forum!

I would consider looking into dobinson mra and ome bp51 around the same price point, maybe a tad higher than $2k. I have the mra and they ride beautifully.

The rear shock does not establish the rear ride height, the leaf spring does. So if you’re planning a rear lift of 1” you’ll need either a block or upgraded leaf springs.

~$2000? Assumes you do the installation.

These seem nice but it seems i looked around and they are around 3200$ unless you mean just buying the fronts and doing a leaf in the rear

I vote for you to reach out to Colton @memario1214 with Hotshotoffroad and see what he might recommend and price out for you. I “think” in the 2k 2.0 foxes might be an option too.

I have Ironman Foam Cell pros and while I’m happy with them, they are stiff. The entire stage 1 kit when I got it, was about 1500 but I think it’s closer to 2k now. They offer nitrogen stuff as well.

Honestly, I don’t think you can really go wrong with any of the options. Good luck!

Bang for the buck the Bilstein 6112/5160 setup is where it's at. You could get those and a small block and be out the door for less than $2k all day. The other one to look at in the same price bucket as them would probably be the Eibach Stage 2 or 2R kit. They are a bit more supple in terms of day to day ride comfort, but my only caution is that if you live in a salt belt state the finishes on them don't love to hold up to road salt in my experience.

Happy to help over here at Hotshot Offroad anytime. Give me a buzz (406-936-0206) or shoot me a pm and we can figure out some details! I am also happy to answer any questions that you have as well.
