I sold my X-Runner and now I have a TRD DCLB 4x4. My insurance went up $100 a month :/ . Two drivers on the policy, both 23, also a 2013 accord, full coverage, can't remember the exact details. Around $443 now for both cars monthly with USAA.

My wife works in insurance and these questions are always a factor for drivers.
If married and have kids, generally you will take less risks and drive more careful than if you are 18yo and inexperienced with a $40k vehicle.

yes, but the $1000 bill that the uninsured doesn't pay just doesn't go away into thin air the Medical service providers are smart enough to charge those who have insurance more for a procedure to off set the costs of uninsured who stiff them and those who are paying their bills, this is called Gaming the System

You're 23. Probably not married? I pay $60/month or $720 a year. No tickets in the last 10 years, married, over 30. 100/200/100 coverage too.

When I was 23, I was paying close to 3k/year for my 400+hp mercedes. As I got older, I was only paying 1440 for it.

Tell me about it. They said 4X4s are more expensive to insure and thats why the rates went up. Ive had USAA for 6 years now and they have always beat the competition in rates. With this increase though, it does make me want to look around again just to make sure of that.

I had a 2013 F150 platinum with the 6.2 before this. It was roughly 75/month. Had 100 deductible, lots of extra riders. Same coverage on the 17 Taco is 90 or so. I seem to remember my 09 being kind of high too. Had a 2015 Wrangler that was only 62 or something like that. Probably should add, 28 not married. One accident (not my fault) and one ticket in 12 years of driving.

I stupidly pay around $90 a month for my Tacoma. Ridiculous since my 475HP 2016 Dodge Charger Scat Pack was $85 and I literally got quoted $95 for the Hellcat when I was considering that. Makes no sense what so ever. Plus, that is with home owners insurance and 4 cars on the same policy. I feel like that should be lower for the Taco.

I may add, no tickets or wrecks as well as being an LEO. Doesn't make sense!

Mine dropped when I bought my Tacoma. Seriously. Got rid of a 16 year old Subaru. Bought new loaded TRD offroad. Premium went down almost $400.

this is not my experience. We had to get a MRI for my wife, don't remember the exact numbers, but when they told us the cost, I was like no freaking way, then they said if we didn't use insurance it was crazy low in comparison. That was almost 10 years ago.

And the insurance company has their role in the healthcare mess, but really folks are getting charged 100 bucks for an aspirin, something is wrong.

There is something wrong with that... or thats just how much insurance cost in Washington. That is very close to how much I paid for a 2014 GT Mustang at 23 and I've had 3 accidents and 1 speeding ticket (All other vehicles). I would assume that a coupe with a big motor would be alot more than a 4 door Tacoma. That was also living in a not so good location at an apartment with no gate. There are things that can lower it like being older than 25, bundling plans (renters, house, multi vehicles) and living in a low crime area. Pay $129/mo for the TRD OR 4x4 and $25/mo for the 86' Suzuki Samurai.

Age and credit are big factors. Many insurance underwriters are now using the credit method as one of the determining factors. I have had 3 Tacoma's in the past 5 years. 2006 -2016 -2017 and my insurance went down a tad each time and the coverage hasn't changed. Also I have been with the same insurance company and have a house and motorcycle on the policy as well. So there is a bunch of factors.

For years males under 25 were seen as very high risk, but I think women are starting to take over in that area due to the texting frenzy.

My insurance was $15 more for my '17 Tacoma vs. my '06 Rav4 ... and the new policy includes new car replacement for 3 years...

Providers can charge whatever they want, but that's not anywhere what they will get. Most successful insurance companies pay based off of a fee schedule. Also balance billing is illegal in most if not all states.
