Without lights, you might as well be the deer. :drunk: If you can see them and know what to look for, and you are not carrying excessive speed, you can slow down and not hit them. But I think I know what you are implying; I witnessed a Jeep with high intensity lights mounted on a roll-bar encounter a heard of deer (there was at least 8 that I saw). The driver literally pulled out of a bar, and passed me doing 80+ about 3/4th to a mile from the bar. Several got hit by the front of the Jeep, and several hit the Jeep on the driver's side door. He was actually in the oncoming lane when it happened. I saw them well before he did, (actually, he probably never did) and I told my wife he is going to hit them, and sure enough, they hit each other.

If you see one, there's likely more.

Get the Baja Designs DOT legal yellows

Snow/rain and fog I'm completely satisfied with mine, and they were plug n play

Amazon. Genuine Toyota LED fogs for 125.00 on Amazon.
I have Morimoto LEDs and they were a huge improvement but the lighting gurus around here say the OE Toyota H11 or the OE LED units are better. The one's I took off might as well have been two candles out there.

If you happened to turn on your high beams the fogs went out. They are wired to be a low beam assist only.

Yes, yellow is better, much less reflectivity.

If you drive in a lot of snowfall / fog conditions, consider upgrading to Diode Dynamics selective yellow LEDs. Fit right in your OE surrounds. @memario1214 and Hotshot offroad run nice sales periodically. Look for one, and get them installed before the spring fog season.

I leave mine on auto with the fog lights on and drive in snow, rain, fog etc with no issues.
