Hi I'm fairly new to the site and have been trying to find some clear answers so I made an account to ask.

I've seen some people say on here that they get rubbing but it's mainly from the mud flaps. Do any of you with these tires/rims experience any rubbing?
Also did any of you need to do any other changes to the car when installing these new parts like re-calibrating the speedometer or something like that?
Wouldn't the speedometer be a bit off with a larger tire size when going from 16" to 17" on a OR Tacoma?

I was running 265 70 17 KO2s with no lift and no rubbing at all. I have a sport so my truck didn’t come with mudflaps. As far as the recalibration of the speedo, I think you will be fine without. My neighborhood has a few different speed limit signs with radars set up to show your speed, they always seem dead on. Hope this helps.

The rim/wheel size change isn't the factor, it's more the overall diameter/ circumference.
17" rims with 265/70/17 are only 1" larger diameter than your stock 265/70/16s so the speedometer difference is barely, if at all. As far as rubbing, I don't think anyone has said they've rubbed on anything important other than mudflaps so you'll be fine. You could always just add a small lift for the peace of mind! :D

Most people with rubbing issues are running a wheel with more offset than the TRD wheel. I have very very minor rubbing on the driver side mudflap if I hit a bump when turning, but it's because my wheels are 8"wide with a -10mm offset, the TRD pro wheels are 7.5" wide with a -4mm offset so they should be fine.

Speedo difference on a 265/70R17 from stock is like 3%, honestly a negligible change.. take a look at the table here to see how much it is affected

I am running Cooper AT3 and TRD pro rims. With everyday driving around town, no rubbing issues even with mudflaps.
As others have said, the problem seems to be primarily with bumps while turning. If you are just driving a mall crawler you should be fine. Most of the rubbing people have mentioned seems to be very minor. 005.jpg
