Hello, sorry if this has already been answered. I have a 2019 tacoma, 4x4 offroad, dual cab. I put the transmission skid on this weekend and in doing so, these plastic covers that go onto the frame no longer seat properly.

I think their purpose is to keep dirt, debris, and water from getting into the frame. Do I need these or can I leave them off? If I do leave them is there any way to make them fit better? What is their real purpose?

I will have to remove them again today when I install the RCI sliders.

    Thanks in advance.

They look like some kind of dust cover for wiring moving within the frame. But it's most likely just to keep the wiring in a certain place as to not rub on other components. For what it's worth, I have a 2016 SR Access Cab and when I installed the RCI full skid package, I do not have those "dust covers". So my guess is they aren't necessary

Thanks, I had been reading about the rust issues on older models. I live in CO so rust can be a thing out here.
