    What’s up TacoWorld

got these weld on sliders from a local fabricator in the Huntington Park area. (Los Angeles, CA)

I feel like they are short and do not provide protection for the cab in its entirety. The fabricator has assured me this is as intended and the way it should be, but I feel like it’s short.

What do you guys think. if you’ve got weld ons, could you post comparison pics?

Honestly, I think they’re perfect man! Here’s what my RCI sliders look like on my DCLB for reference.

Nice set up! the rear push out is much further back on yours. I know it’s a long bed but it’s still relatively disproportionate

Honestly they look short on both ends. I would like to see coverage all the way across...

I’ve wheeled the truck all over Moab and Colorado and have used the sliders a ton and have never had any issues with hitting the front or the rear parts that aren’t covered. Those uncovered parts are protected by the tires coming off of / rolling onto the obstacle.

Yeah they’re longer bc of the long bed, but proportionally (at least to me) yours look to cover the same real estate that mine do.

Mine are similar or maybe even a little longer. I’ve gotten a rock wedged between my slider and tire and it went into my panel.

Thanks! It’s been a working progress.

The rock rotated as I was sliding over it and as soon as it cleared the end of the slider it turned right into the panel. I wasn’t pleased to say the least but it’s also a part of it when you wheel hard. I dinted my b pillar after bouncing into a tree. That hurt a little more.

So far consensus looks like there is enough coverage to be effective sliders.
great news as theyre welded haha

I would be more concerned about the thickness of that square tubing. Length looks OK as the designer is probably anticipating people cutting their wheel wells out a bit.

Back to the square tubing: The sharp edged at the bends make me believe that material is only 1/8" thick - not strong enough for the rocks I would hit.

Can we see some pictures of how it is welded to the frame?

They look great to me! If you intend to use your truck for rock crawling I don’t know if they will be sufficient. If you are just going trail riding they should be fine IMO.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...

Really old pic of my truck. Same sliders though. I think the OP's are too short and the kickout is too small but that is my opinion.
