    Yeah.
I probably would. Mowing is my passion.

    Yeah.
Well, there you go, they should probably work fine. I'm partial to the NGK plugs, not really sure why.

I looked into the breakdown of those plugs further last night.. they are a cross even though that sparkplugcrossreference website said they aren't. The actual dimensions on the threads and the plug reach/seating config are the same, the only difference is the material they're made of

    Yeah.
Haha, no, not yet. I have a Honda self-propelled and just got a John Deere tractor. Got tired of push-mowing half an acre of yard.

Haha you pass the mowing passion test just by knowing what it they are, ungodly expensive for a mower and I can't imagine walking behind a caltrim for a whole half acre

    Did you get the HRX217?

    Yeah.
Yes, got it a couple years ago. My old Honda had an metal deck and was warped, no way to level it. It left funny lines. Love the HRX217, but just takes forever. So I got the JD E130 to rip through it faster. But I like to mulch, and the JD throws clippings everywhere.

Does your 217 have the orange speed selector handle or the less expensive "Smartdrive" system? I've sold so many Honda mowers in my life it's unreal, you'd think after awhile everyone would have one but nope every year they just keep getting sold! Shame about your old mower but that's usually how they work .. the deck falls apart before the engine dies :D

Do you mean a D130? If so you can get a mulch kit that changes the blades and adds a baffle so the grass clippings stay under the deck. If you've already got the kit and still are unhappy with the performance you can get an awesome aftermarket set of Gator Blades (from a company called Oregon)

    Yeah.
My Honda has the knob in the middle to select max speed and a gray squeeze handle that lets you vary the speed. The deck on the old one was fine other than being warped. It had been through 2 moves, so not sure how the movers may have treated it.

The JD is an E130. Both Home Depot and Lowes carry them. I have just been running it side-discharge, no mulch kit. I am going to try their deck block-off attachment for mulching first, and if that doesn't work to my liking I might try the more expensive under-deck baffle kit.

I second the NGK recommendation. I have used them in all my Asian vehicles for many years. Never had an issue. Got some stupid nice ones for the Tacoma.

Sure, just about ANY plug that threads in the hole will make a spark and go bang, but is seems like if Toyota went through the trouble of writing down a specific part number for plugs, that seems like the plug to use.

I run 91 octane in my mower. Nothing but the best for my rig.

Not only does it give me like 20 more HP, I'm also too lazy to have a separate gas can for my motorcycle and lawn equipment, so the mower gets high octane.
