    Found these used headlights on offerup for a decent price.

    I noticed the plastic is black, mine are gray. Does that mean they are aftermarket? I don't want to drive there to find out. I don't know what other clues to look for either. If they are aftermarket I'll pass.

    TOugh to see in those pics but on your end blow them up some and look up the model#, that will definitely tell you..

    Not 100% but I believe they'd say Toyota somewhere too

    Tried blowing them up. Can't read them. Can't see any Toyota symbols either.

    I'd drop them a line and ask for the numbers on the back or if he knows if OEM. I'm not sure just by those pics.

    Every OEM headlight assembly I've seen is grey in back. I have seen plenty of black aftermarket lights.

    If the box they're sitting on is the box they came.in, I'd say they're not OEM. Every box I've ever had Toyota parts come in have a "Toyota Genuine Parts" logo on them and the part number/description is a sticker/label. I don't believe Toyota would label a box "Auto Lamp."

    This is a whole lotta "I believe" "in my experience," so take it for what it is.

    These are listed as "used". There isn't a box.

    Didn't notice the cardboard they are sitting on does say "Auto Lamp". Definitely not a Toyota box or type of labelling.

    Probably aftermarket. :mad::rolleyes:

    Could be the box they received the new lights they installed. They probably ordered some Ebay projector headlights. I'd ask just in case because it many be a good deal if it already caught your eye.

    Going by the obvious visual differences from an OEM headlight, I would pass. Besides the black housing, the clear cover design and markings are different.

    I don't see the markings I would expect to see on the back of a Toyota OEM headlight assembly.

    I haven't seen that many, but all of 2nd gen headlights I've seen were grey, not black.

    Be aware that Toyota changed the headlamp style at least once for the 2nd gen and there was a recall of some for overheating and melting. The replacement for the recall was a different style than the original. So you have to change both sides at once or you have to make sure you're buying the right style to match the headlight on the other side.
