    Combined Average Fuel economy..CAFE guidelines aka regulations. Creates expected fuel goals by certain years, regs yes... forces auto makers to innovate and change for better or worse.... is your call.

    Major flaw in your post OP, I'm pretty sure there have been threads and links to Toyota about order dates for 2014 models as well as the discontinuation of the XRunner and the addition of an SR Package in its place.

    Seems like toyota is waiting for the 2015/2016 regulations for releasing there new engines I would rather them take there time than rush it out like gm and dodge. Also it looks like the new tundra will have a hybrid drivetrain because they have a raised floor in the cab that looks like its where they put batteries.
