I use it for a couple of things. "Read it," "Ignore," and "show forecast" works great.

It's the directions that suck. "Navigate to gas station" usually results in it finding the nearest Ace Hardware. But if I ask it to find Ace Hardware, it shows the nearest movie theater.

I just went and double checked, and with my 2021 with apple car play a long press activated Siri.

 

Must be a 20/21 change. Not that way for 16-19.

Supposed to work with an iPhone and Siri way back to 2016. Says so in my 2017 manual. I don't have an iPhone to confirm

 

iPhone/Siri works when you hold down off-hook.

When I hold it down whilest using android auto, it activates google assistant, which is much more useful than the mime toyota has employed as the stock text to speech.

 

I may just be old, but I really don't want my truck to talk to me, nor do I want to talk to it.

Doesn’t it look like the one in the back is throwing his head back like “Damn dude, shut the fuck up!” in reference to the one in front just going on and on about how his day was.

 

I use it weekly to make calls from my phone book. And compared to my 17 RAM it's light-years ahead. My kids would laugh at me in that truck trying to make a call 9 times out of 10 would end in me screaming absurdly at the truck. The Toyota system works every time for me... its slick. That said, I haven't used it for any other commands other than making phone calls.
