Life proof cases barely last 6 months let alone a year. I've owned a life proof for my 4s and 5 and the don't last for shit. Barely 6 months and they start wearing through and are no longer waterproof. They are great at keeping dust off your phone but don't last long.

Keep it in your pocket. This is the second case in a year.

The edge around the screen is worn down so much it's peeled and allows the plastic screen to come up. the volume buttons have come off as has the vibrate/volume sector switch. The backing has come loose too.

Huh , is it a legit Lifeproof ? My BIL bought a new Lifeproof online and had problems with it and when he called their support line they ran the serial numbers and discovered it was a counterfeit

Yep, I'll have to find the Best Buy receipts for it but unless they are selling knock offs with legit LP QR codes on the box... I registered the 2nd case with LP, I'll see if I can file a claim with them but honestly, they don't last.

Where are you buying your cases from? I've had two life proof cases. Only got a new one b/c I switched phones. I've taken this phone a lot of places with this case. Leave it out everywhere. It's scratched here and there, but isn't falling apart at all. Dropped, dunked, painted, etc..... Phone still looks new inside.

My life proof is white by the way. Next one won't be. White gets dirty and looks bad after awhile.

Called sarcasm, as in keep it in your pocket as opposed to your tool belt and see how long the case lasts.

I don't keep mine on a a belt or holster and it resides in my pocket 99% of the time and in one year I'm on my second case.

My lifeproof for my Galaxy S4 is holding up just fine, and it stays in my pocket most of the time, and has been thru fights, chases, dropped out of patrol cars...

I'm sure it gets a lot of abuse while sitting in your pocket at the table in dunkin donuts. The only thing holding it together is the sugar glaze.
