Got mine for about 2k less than msrp. Just have to be hardnosed and not afraid to walk away. Also have to be the leader in the conversation with the salesman. Tell him what you want to pay.

    Do you have a trade-in?

If so, focus on the end number. If they will give you retail or close on your trade, then you may not get quite as much off MSRP.

I got 2k off of MSRP and got very good trade-in value.

Either way, there is definitely room to move on price. Don't be afraid to lowball them.

The worst they can do is say no

It's been a while but I paid full price on mine but got them to give me an extra $4000 on my trade in. So basically it was a sweet deal!

It's been a couple years since I bought mine, but definitely look online and get quotes from dealers online in your area. I went that route and ended up getting mine $5,500 below MSRP.

I know how you feel man. They wanted 26g's for a 2007 4x4 double cab 45,000 miles here at my local city Toyota dealer. I talked them down to 24,500 OTD was the lowest i could get them down.

Just be patient, it took me about a month and a half but i got an 08 for 22,800 Tax and all off a guy on autotrader. Went and looked at it and it was in wonderful condition with only 28k miles on it.

I did a ton of research, checked a few different sites for dealer invoice and true market value, decided what I wanted to pay and emailed 4 different dealerships saying that the other one offered me the price I had decided I wanted to pay. None of it was true, no one had offered me that price but who cares. In the end the dealer made a slight profit on a sale at the end of the month when they were trying to hit their numbers.

The key to me was research, research, research and only use email in the negotiation phase. If they get you on the phone they'll try to convince you to come test drive the car and once you drive it you'll want it. Badly.

Decide the price you want based on research and stick to it, you dictate the action. Via email.

You can deal for sure, especially if you find a new '10 on the lot. That's what I did. With the 2011s, my dealer wouldn't talk much about selling below sticker but I'm sure it varies dealer to dealer.

My new-on-the-lot SR5 DC 4x4 stickered at $29,500, and my trade-in had a KBB value of $3,500, so the dealer either gave me $1500 over KBB for my car or took $1500 off the sticker, however you want to look at it. I ended up at $24,500 at the end of the day. I didn't "steal it", but I think I got a good deal without trying very hard.

I recently purchased a new 2011 4x4 DC SR5. I got 10% off MSRP and well OVER trade-in value on my 2005 silverado.

Know exactly what you want first, then go to Edmunds.com. From there you can look at dealer inventory and see if they have what you want. Email all the dealers in your area and ask for a quote. Play them off each other and don't be in a hurry. That is what i did and I got a 2011 for $500 under invoice (NOT MSRP) and 6K for my trade in (total POS). NEVER pay sticker price!!! And don't just walk into a dealership without the price agreed on in writing, you can't win they know all the tricks.
