I am curious, but you folks who have done negotiations through the Internet, how did you guys negotiate your trade in without them having to see the vehicle?

I have a trade in, but the dealer ships I have spoken with all want me to come in to show them my trade in the moment I mention trade in. They wouldn't even give me a ball park quote for my trade in.

    Who could expect them to....

Ball Park could be from $1000-$2500....OF any "BLUE BOOK nada, mANHEIM,GALVES BOOK

Jst get the best new price and find a Carmax to give you a figure you can work with. Dealers won;t pay what Carmax does ACV Oh they may on "paper" but not ACV. My dealer offered $2200 more than my trade was worth and I said/"You are giving me too much for my trade" The look was priceless....LOL After a long silent 10 seconds I said " are also too high on the truck so lets get real here....They did and we made a deal we both were happy with.

Hey guys, I'm new here. :)

I went to the toyota dealership today, hoping to walk out with a 11' Tacoma but couldn't come to terms with the salesman. We looked at v6 models, with sticker price around $27,000, but he said he could only go down to about 25,800 before taxes...

Now I was mainly looking for a 2.7L Tacoma. I went onto toyota's website and built it to my specifications.

    -2DR 2WD 2011 Tacoma 2.7L
    -SR5 Package
    -16" wheels

Came up with a few vehicles for about $24,000 MSRP, $23,230 Invoice. What could I realistically get this vehicle for?

Sorry about the easy questions, it is my first time buying a vehicle and I am not really a good negotiator...:) Thanks though!

Got degree? If so, you could get additional $1000 off for new grad.

Looking to buy one in canada. We went to the dealership and the "Cost" of what the dealership pays is $34,430CAD and MSRP is $35,700 same package TRD Off-road access cab. I guess there is not that much mark-up on them.

Only get $500 dollars off for grad program here :/ . Mark up on them is a little over $1000 CAD Before taxes.

Back in April of 2008, I traded my 2000 4runner for a 2008 Black Sand Pearl Double cab TRD Sport 6 cyl 4x4 automatic. I went to the closest dealer that had the most taco's on the lot (and the same place i bought my 4runner). Said to salesman i want 5k for my 4runner and 25k for the taco. His boss did the game of let me go ask the manager a couple of times, and then finally agreed when i asked for my keys to my 4 runner back.

Its your money, someone will eventually give you what you want, the dealers that have the most tacos want to get rid of them, they cant make money by them sitting in the lot.........

Aaything below $23,900 would be a little better than avg price. There isn't a whole lot of room on lower priced vehicles. Tacomas are discounted the least money of sticker. Thats the price you pay for the best selling compact pick up truck with the best resale and god reliability
