Aside from buring, I would imagine drowning would have to be the scariest freaking way to go!

Not the same day. Once swimming near the shore and once in a boat in the middle. Big storm + little boat + Coors Lite = bad day in a boat. LOL let that be a lesson to you.

It's actually not that bad according to medical reports that I read while studying decompression diving.

Psychologically, the initial terror is high. You fight to hold your breath, and the CO2 loading won't let you, and you are forced to exhale.
But once water floods into your lungs, your blood chemistry is completely fucked up, you relax, realize it's not going to hurt, and just fade away as your O2 levels drop.
You simply pass out and are not aware of anything once the PPO2 in your blood drops to below around .12

The frightful initial stages are the memories that most people have when they survive a near-drowning.

I got that inked into my skin after I left the hospital. :D It's no joke, or something that is normally spoken about lightly. People who've felt the brush of DEATH's robes passing by, in my opinion, are more ready for it, but more willing to fight for life at the same time.

I really want to get it touched up though, needs some more work!!!

    Not enough.
Had a 9mm pulled on me at a house party because the guy couldn't take jokes. The barrel was maybe 7" from my face. Fuck, that did wonders.

A barrel of a loaded 9mm looks like a fucking massive cannon when it in your face.

definitely not at the top of my list of ways to go.

I'm a really strong swimmer, since birth.(and I live on an island..) I wasnt necessarily drowning, rather than spending 15-20 minutes wondering when I'd lose strength..
It's amazing how fast things go through your mind when the adrenaline's pumping. Everything from what would happen if I were to try the 3/4 mile swim to the nearest beach to trying to work out the pattern of the waves

Not fun, definitely came ashore a different person though

Why be scared of something I've never done before? It could be interesting...
