I suspect if all of us had a shitload of money we'd still be driving our Tacoma’s. However, it would be parked next to the Vette or the Ferrari in the garage.

I think maybe my truck is PART of my mid life crisis! And really no, I dont think it really attracts too much attention. There are quite a few nicer Tacomas than mine around here. I do feel good about driving a truck that will hopefully last until I retire and beyond.

You mean like the Chevy Silverado who tried to race me when I didn't know we were racing and still lost to me when I floored it?

    I suppose so. :p

Tacoma love... I do look at the people in the SportTrac and feel sorry for them. I see them look over at my beautiful black shinny Tacoma and say. I wish I was him. If I had the money, I would still own a Taco. But would have a sport sedan along side it. Maybe a 5series.

I felt that way when I owned a Tundra. I just felt too uncomfortable behind the wheel. I was EXTREMELY enviously of Tacoma owners. Now I am one. :)

I am so envious of Dodge, Chevy, Ford, Nissan, GMC, and Suzuki owners. They get to check out my sweet Tacoma when they're driving, I'm just stuck looking at all their ugly trucks.

If you owe $26,000 on what you are driving and the dude next to you has a 88' Civic that is paid for and as a result of that and the exceptional milage he is getting is allowing him to stash mountains of cash on a monthly basis, you might just be mis-reading the expression on his face...

My Taco was purchased mostly because of the "Great" vehicle my 1991 Extra-Cab was. 180K and only 1 problems in 8 years.

I like my new Taco. It is a far more civilized vehicle than the old '91. Better ride, better seats, more room, ect. But the new truck is not built to the same quality level as the old '91. The quality of the parts and the fit and finish just are not the same. My biggest disappointment is the noise level in the truck. Add the rattles and squeaks, which at times seem almost constant, to the wind noise(somewhat better after putting on vent visors) and I have a hard time getting super-excited about this generation Tacoma. MY 2¢

He says "What a fool. I have no car payment and can therefore afford this hooker here in the passenger seat.".

A 45 year old man driving a 1988 Honda Civic may have more money in the bank than you'll make in the next decade for all you know. Some folks don't care about the appearance of their vehicle and only care about getting from point A to point B.

Check your egos. Before the decline in housing and the credit crunch anybody could finance the appearance of success. This hypothetical guy in the civic might have more money than all of us combined. For example, Jeff Bezos was shown driving a few years old Honda Accord on a 60 minutes interview. Warren Buffet was driving a 10 year old Lincoln Continental a few years back. Sam Walton drove an old Ford pick up.

true, but I doubt it man. I made 55K when I was marked up on the railroad.

If he has more money in the bank than Im going to gross over the next 10yrs....I'd bet hes driving something better than 1988 Honda Pile-oshit.

Again, how do you know? Look at the above examples. All you're doing is giving me more ammo to prove my point. You and I may care what we drive but many many others don't. My buddy drives a 1994 Saturn sedan with 250K+ miles on it and he is a grocery store manager making $75K/year. He will run it until it dies and couldn't care less what anyone thinks.

Sorry, I have to laugh: "...the women like it too"? What does that have to do with anything other than some lame attempt to prove you're some kind of stud? Now we're supposed to have a penis measuring contest? No thanks.

More ammo to prove your point?

I guess I dont see your point. What is it again?

My point is that I'm a self absorbed asshole. Thats the whole point of this thread is it not?

    ^Well, you got me there.

MY point is that, you can't judge a book by it's cover. Here you are thinking you know something about someone based on what they drive. I'm not buying it.
