Well, you are right, "cant judge a book by its cover", but I'm a big fan of the "class system".

Last year I was that guy - albeit a 27 year old in a '86 Accord.

I called it the dragon because the oil burning on the engine would waft out in clouds at a stop light.
The smell of unburnt gas would make backseat passengers nauseous.
I had to pay $300 every year to get the carb adjusted for summer weather (it would go too lean)
96 horses doesn't impress many folks
the car was loud on the highway due to maintaining high RPMs and general road noise
i couldn't roll down the window - and sometimes couldn't roll it up
my brake lights would break constantly
I looked at every Toyota truck that passed - even ones older than my car.
I towed my car with an '82 toyota pickup more than once.
It did get 27MPG no matter how I drove, I got regular praise for how good of condition the body was in, and the inside was very clean.
I DID save up, I plunked down $14k cash. Was I upset to hand the Accord keys to my brother? HELL NAW!

So don't judge me either - I WAS envious!

Dad's '88 Camry is about to die. He's proud as hell about it - almost 500k on it and he gets 34MPG - but that doesn't keep him from trying to steal my keys!

Some people just don't enjoy spending money they don't have to. My Grandfather buys a new mini van every 5 years, but that is the only thing he 'treats' himself to, even though he could afford much more than he has.

I work as an ER nurse and a Psych nurse. If you ever say this in the psych setting, they will conclude two things....

Grandeous and/or Paranoid delusional. ha ha We all have what they have, but just to a smaller degree that doesn't inhibit us from living daily life.

Nice AR's. I just built one on a CMMG lower and LWRC gas piston upper.

Cool! I love my LWRC. Best AR variant on the market, imo.

That's how I feel. I'm fortunate to be driving a nice truck but 6 years ago I could barely afford to keep an '89 Mazda 4x4 running. I'm blessed to have what I have because not long ago, I didn't have much of anything.

We need our EMT's at our ER. They're part bouncer, EMT, and party animal.

I know it's your job to do your job, but an EMT who didn't like a nurse can make your life hell by working slow, or dissappearing when you need them.

Thanks for all your good works.

This may be common but it is not a requirement in life. Back to my original point; check your ego and you realize nobody cares that you drive a midsize truck.

    Nothing yet, brand new!
Up until a few years ago I had a pile o chit '90 Ranger that would barely pull itself up a a light highway grade in 3rd gear. I had pieced it together adn kept it running as long as I could until I could not afford time wise to repair it any longer. It had 240k on it when I sold it to someone in town who uses it for light farm work.
It was well worth the wait. At the dealership I told them I was paying in full for my Tacoma. Had a certified check from my bank account and MY brand new truck.
I was envious, now I'm just content!
When the crap weather hits out here I drive my POS Chrysler to work and get envious walking by my shiny Tacoma parked in the garage.. :D
