OU812, Outstanding man, thats exactly what I did. I drove a 96 Tacoma regular cab 4 X 4 everyday for 12 years and it had 327,000 on it when Toyota bought it back. I had saved every month just like I was making a payment even before the buyout so when Toyota bought my old Taco back I just paid CASH for a 2008 Rugged Trail 4 X 4.The great thing was I really wasnt expecting the buyout money so I was able to leave an extra 9k in the bank too. I am really happy with the new truck but its not an ego thing I just feel blessed to have a good job and I am fortunate I wasnt envious of others and rushed out and bought a new truck when everyone around me did. I got exactly what I wanted no payment and more money left in my account.

Yeah that describes us pretty well. Nothing says fun like having to put an HIV Hep C Crackie back in his place after the sonuvabitch tries to bite you.

Thanks goes to the nurses as well. I've seen the crap you guys have to put up with and frankly, I don't have near the inexhaustible patience LPNs and RNs have. :proposetoast:

That's the way to do it (but not the way I did it)... Congrats! I really think the country (Canada and the US) would be alot better off if credit was a little harder to get, and people were forced to save up for what they want.

A simple no could have sufficed. :p

I can sense other folks envy at times as they are mesmerized at my new Tacoma Double Cab with my even more brand-spanking new Snuglid tonneau cover!

I do, however, try to keep it in perspective. Although I LOVE my ride, there are folks in this world who are as happy about their 1996 road-film coated, silver Saturn POS as I am stoked about my Tacoma.

I am thankful, especially in today's society and the state of our economy, that I have the means (at least up to this point) to drive what I want, have a roof over my head, pay MY bills, and provide for my family, i.e. PAY MY OWN WAY (Knocking on every piece of wood from here to the valley and back!)

Im actually a little disappointed with the quality of these 2nd gens. The last toyota I owned was 1989 pickup, great truck, however it was built in Japan and I feel there quality control is better then it is here. I sold it with 230,000 kms and I still see it driving around. Don't get me wrong I love my 2nd gen to death, much much nicer(fancier) truck then '89, just the little things that frustrate me.
