I average 16-18mpg with 8 ply 285's at 40 psi. Best I've ever gotten when it was stock was 18.2 mpg and I drive like a grandpa. Shell 89 octane.

Keeping it at 55mph you will achieve the best gas mileage but I can't go that slow, so 60-65mph it is. Gas mileage plummets when you get over 65

I'm still in the break in period (1500 miles). Mine keeps dropping. First tank was 22.2 mpg tonight's fill up I got 15.9. I sure hope it goes back up.

Down here in SOCAL if u drive the speed limit or less you might get a ticket for going to slow. Average down the I15 is like 75mph. So that 55mph rule is out the window for me. I might get shot if I go 55.

So far on my 2 tanks, there is an awful lot of faster driving, 70-80mph. I have good access to freeway/expressways and not a lot of stop and go traffic for my usual commute. So, most of my miles are at freeway speeds. I know I cannot drive at something like 55, so for me, I just try to get up to speed casually. I don't go all granny like, but I don't drop the hammer and get up to speed right away either. With the taco still breaking in, I'm trying to avoid heavy throttle take offs. I think I've only had it drop down into passing gear a few times so far, to get around some slow pokes. I've only used 87 octane so far, and it seems to be doing well with it. Later on I may try a couple of tanks of 91 to see if the gains, if any, are worth the price difference. But if I can get 20ish on 87, I'll be content. Of course, more would be welcomed too.

By pure gas I assume you mean no ethanol?

That's way better than what I get (~16).
I can get non-ethanol 90 but it's expensive. Maybe I'll try a tankful and see what I get.

I'm sure it's been covered in this thread before but I'm curious about the different brands of gas and the effects on MPG. I only fill up with Shell/Chevron and get between 16-18 MPG with 33s and a lift.

Well my Tundra was getting 11.5 in the city and 16-18 hwy so what ever it gets it will be better. If I avg 18-20 over all I will be happy. I have a stock v6 dc TRD Sport 4x4.

My AC V6 4x4 Tacoma gets 18-22 mpg

As a comparison to the Tacoma I have been driving a 2014 4x4 5.7L Hemi Dodge Ram for seven days now. Someone rear-ended my Tacoma so it’s in the shop. (Not happy)

The TV commercial for the Ram says 35mpg LOL. Perhaps going downhill or someplace that is perfectly flat and doing 55mph with a tail wind all the time you might see those numbers. The truck computer tells me it’s averaging 20.1 mpg with a lot of highway driving, quite a stretch to 35mpg LOL. Driving it in the city the numbers are just nasty.

The ram is a very nice driving truck on the highway and its scary fast, sweet mother that 5.7 will go. But I hate the over emphasized power steering, and it drives like a 1980’s ford crown vic LTD in the corners, float much. (although it takes the rough stuff very nice) Honestly for my needs I would not own this truck; if you own a farm or construction company yup it’s a good choice.

But……. the heated side mirrors on the Ram are real nice on frosty mornings LOL……just saying.

Not sure where you dreamed up a 35mpg commercial?, epa says 15/21 with the 8 speed and 13/19 with the 6 speed.

My v6 4x4 dcsb automatic sport consistently get 21 almost every tank. It has to be the cool scoop. I have a 85 mile round trip commute that is almost all hwy. I put the cruise on 70. I've hit 22 a few times but I have to drive 65 on the highway. My commute is mostly flat highway in Arkansas.

I get just above 16 MPG, pretty much all city driving with occasional interstate runs at 75-80. DCSB 4x4 Auto.

No dream, playing on Canadian TV, if I can find it you will see it. Mind you I know SFA about these ram's but this is what the canadian website says:
    http://www.ramtruck.ca/en/1500/capability

The 35 mpg claim is for the 3.6L penstar V6 (Up to 11.4 L/100 km (25 mpg) City and 7.8 L/100 km (36 mpg) Highway) I thought the 35mpg was for the 5.7, my mistake.

Although the 5.7 hemi with the 8 speed automatic is Up to 14.6 L/100 km (19 mpg) City and 9.8 L/100 km (29 mpg) Highway. The 6 speed is Up to 15.8 L/100 km (18 mpg) City and 10.8 L/100 km (26 mpg) Highway.

Pretty sure what I'm driving is the 5.7L 6 speed, not getting what they suggest, in particular for in-city. Really not surprised, most auto
manufactures mpg numbers are a somewhat of dream.
