i have a few nagging issues that'll be looked at come first oil service but, i owned a jeep TJ and volvo 240 at one point; sooooo --- this is still a reliable solid brick s**thouse compared to anything i've owned in the past --- including past toyotas.

I love my truck. My issues are really just with the design/options not included such as auto on/off lights you have to upgrade to the prem package, this should be standard. Transmission shift points are annoying but meh. Some other minor things but over all I am very happy.

Do you need to know, or care?
They could also install the flux capacitor in the standard trucks, but you're going to have to pay for the 21 gigawatt battery to run it. It's a trade-off to keep pricing down, there's a lot of people who don't want/need those options, but then there's others who'll pay the price for the nicities. You want on/off headlights, I want push button start, he wants back up sonar....no end to it.

Anyway, I am really happy with my truck too! Not in love, if I am, when I sell her she's gonna ask for a piece of my will.

Love my 2016 Tacoma after 2500 miles. Really noticed an improvement in shifting after about 2000 miles, even when driving in the mountains. I've also noticed much improved acceleration off the line... probably because I've learned how to get the most out of the throttle. I've learned to drive it a little differently with delicate throttle inputs to maintain 6th gear for fuel economy and to prevent excessive shifting on uphills. I was using S-Mode, but I've learned to adjust my throttle inputs to limit excessive shifting in the mountains. On real steep and slow curvy roads, I'll sometimes still use S-Mode. I don't ever use ECT mode really either. I've found the regular mode will give me plenty of acceleration when I need it... I've found flooring it is not the answer, but rather quickly, but smoothly increase throttle until up to speed.

I have absolutely ZERO complaints with this truck now that it's broken in.
