Love it so far. Only issues so far are a little vibration in the pedal and some dash/door rattles. And I do wish the stereo sound quality were better.

I love my truck and k would not go back and change my decision to purchase it. I had the infamous low transmission fluid but my dealership checked it and it was low. I feel like the more I drive my truck the more I love it. I feel so bad for the folks having issues with their dealerships service departments. I don't feel like it is the trucks fault that the service departments are garbage. I think everyone needs to call toyota directly and report these issues with the dealerships in question and let toyota straighten them out.

Hey OP good thread but a qiestion. Can you see who voted what? For instance, what would keep someone that doesn't own a third gen (or a Tacoma for that matter) from voting?

Overall very happy. I came out of a F150 and enjoy the smaller size and more truck like feel. Also the 21.5 mpg average is pretty good. The Entune tech package blows Ford out of the water.
When I took delivery, I had the dealership manually check trans fluid level, u bolts, and drive line zeros were properly greased. Everything came back Aok.

I'm happy with the truck. Getting the tranny fluid filled and some hesitation issues for which is no fix yet, some minor wind noise from the control arms, but these are being resolved.
Quietest taco I've ever rode in, comfortable seating, love the redesigned interior and exterior and fun to drive. Every manufacturer has bugs to work out....humans make stuff and humans make mistakes. Overall a great product for a decent price.

I think Smitty's problem was when he "whipped" it out, the temperature was 135 degrees that day.... Most stuff can't handle that kind of heat..!

Very happy. Took delivery 36 hours ago. Replacing a '98 RAM which I am keeping (sentimental).

I used my fingers to unlock it, got in, and pushed a button while the truck started itself so I could put on my seat belt. I put it in reverse and started going. The BSM system started barking at me to let me know I left the parking brake up. Used some dirt roads to get out of the campground. The potholes and divots on the road were no problem, the truck felt "at home" on the somewhat rough terrain even though I was babying it. Once I hit the highway, I came home getting 24.1 mpg at 70 mph. This truck is just so perfectly sized and nimble and capable.

    It is so refined.

I know right these trucks rock! There seem to be a lot of complaints from people over little things. Get a domestic built after 2000 and tell me you like that more and I'd be shocked.

I'm really glad I did not let the whiney M.O. of this forum sway my decision. People crying about the transmission doing what a transmission does...yikes.

Count yourself lucky that you didn't experience what others have. Just because it didn't happen to you or you don't care if it happens to you, doesn't mean it wasn't and isn't a widespread issue.

Overall very happy.. I would have picked a different color, but it was a gift. Almost 10K since Christmas, no issues. I do wish the gas mileage was better, but low 20's at 70 MPH is not too bad.

My issue is more with the convoluted configuration matrix from Toyota. Certain options only with certain colors or motors. And add in the regional differences.

My transmission downshifts when I go uphill, so I guess it does happen to me?

I have heard very few complaints about the interior. I think they nailed that.

Just some rattles here and there, a few leaks, some weather stripping issues causing road noise/wind noise, also the door panels scuff and show marks too easily. No Passenger side floormat clips. Oh and the heated seat display looks like something from a 1980's SAAB. Other than that no interior complaints that I've seen. My interior is pretty nice.
