Lots on here about engine and transmission problems with 4th gen’s. If I had a new truck sitting at the dealers for weeks or months, I wouldn’t be happy, and I would surely post to let people know it. But, the satisfied folks might not be so quick to say so. Just wondering if anyone with a 4th gen is completely satisfied.
I will be at the dealer tomorrow for service on the wife’s Prius (don’t laugh, 50-55 MPG) and might look around.

More than I need but still not enough.
I have been loving mine so far. It drives great, almost car like. The 14” screen is amazing for using CarPlay. Gas mileage isn’t bad for a truck and it has plenty of power to get going. I was coming from a 2017 base Jeep renegade so this truck was a huge upgrade for me.

A few legit failures and shortcomings scattered among mounds and mounds of bitter turd genners screeching about stuff that has really nothing to do with them.

    But I'm just an observer....

Completely satisfied. It’s a beast off road, even in stock form.

Yes, except for a few stupid things.
    • iMT should be a toggle switch so it doesn’t reset to off every time, it would remain in whatever position I last use.
    • Wish it had a mechanical locker like GM’s G80 (Eaton)
    • App tells me I forgot windows opened, but I can’t close them
    • Reverse should be geared like 1st or lower
    • Reverse should be down right instead of up left, this is not a VW
    • 2nd gear should be a bit closer to 1st gear ratio, large gap right now

I hope you can get my humor here having gone up same hills with my Toyota V6 and 6 speed automatic now traded for the gen 4 that goes by them while screaming in pain. The old was good, the new seems really good.

It might help that we have another recent car not made perfectly where the manufacturer tool horribly long for parts. We waited months to get a part for our well used 2015 Toyota too.

For a light truck our '24 TRD OR long bed is really nice. If I didn't need a truck often in next few years I'd have chosen differently. I'm probably an exception for how into pickups some are.

One more thing.... the 2024s are top safety pick rated against competitors that have crappy safety ratings.

honestly loving mine so far , drives like a dream and makes going back to my '12 mazda3 seem like a clunker in comparison. admittedly reading through this forum makes me nervous and i am trying to be diligent and stay aware of any mishaps, but i cant help but love it. at around 4,600 miles so far

Completely satisfied. Go into any forum of any car or truck. The few negatives dominate all the threads but once you skip by those you usually find a bunch of satisfied customers.

Love it coming from my 01. Drivability is amazing and it’s quick enough to stay with traffic. My only true gripe is CarPlay disconnecting.

I own a 3rd Gen and my neighbor owns a 4th Gen, we both got our trucks around the same time. He's loving his truck, we both have long commutes to work and he won't carpool in my truck, that's for sure.

Even though we both have near identical use cases for our trucks (Daily driver, hauling stuff from Home Depot, hauling family and groceries from CostCo) we both seem equally satisfied with our purchases.

Edit: Neighbor #2 down the street has been eying both our trucks and hasn't decided which one to buy yet. I think he's leaning towards a '23 Gen 3 TRD Pro that's been on the lot a few weeks, but there's also supposibly a trail hunter (Maybe it's a TRD off road based on how he described it to me) gen4 nearby he's torn between.

    Edit2: Here's a side by side of our trucks (not actual as I don't have his permission to share pictures of his truck) but it's the right color and configurations;

I have a boat that is well over 5k, I’m shocked how well it tows. It’s not constantly shifting, instead it adjusts boost as needed.

Stopping isn’t a problem at all. It’s a double axel trailer with surge brakes.

A couple months driving my ‘24, and I can attest that it makes nice torque down low, the four wheel discs work very well, doesn’t hunt gears, and the rear coils definitely smooth out the ride vibration versus my Gen3. Seating position is better, and I appreciate the extra rear seat space. The build quality is better than any Toyota I’ve owned. Winner.

Wait a minute, are we talking Tacomas? Nice truck, but let me know when they fix the questionable quality. And good luck.

Love mine at far. No issues to speak of other than Android Auto disconnecting a few times and poor gas mileage (21ish). 2100 miles with about 1600 of those highway miles. I'm a former 3rd gen owner ('17 Limited) and they fixed every complaint I had with that truck and then some. Very happy so far

Edit: My only real complaint is not with the truck but with how Toyota does business these days. Not allowing ordering a specific vehicle, adding "port installed" options that I don't want just to drive up the cost and profit margin.
