That's why I wanted it, to pair with my wheel gun. The revolver is a Ruger and the rifle, Rossi.

And I know there are people uncomfortable with the gun talk, but that applies to both sides. In my mind it's simply a non issue and I don't bring politics into the issues. It's easy enough to see how the issue has been blown out of proportion by both sides.

Hell, I remember the hysteria back in the late 60’s when Detroit had a voluntary gun buy back. Look at it now, we are the most self destructive species on the planet.

I’m really starting to look at these solar/ battery setups. Ideal for camping, nice backup for home. The residential roofing/solar is making some real advances as well.

I just picked up a barely used (4-5 chargecycles) 1000 watt Jackery for $150! I couldn't pass that up. I'll probably get one 200wt solar panel for it and call it good. Combined with my Honda 2000i generator, it gives me options for essentials. Certainly not a whole home or long term solution, but between the two I can have some power night and day.

My real focus has been a thirty day weather situation, it would be nice to have more however.

No politics. Perhaps @JimBeam can tell us what we s allowed. I, myself, was simply trying to state various reasons to stock up trying hard to keep that out as a reason. I honestly don’t know if talking about proposed legislature is considered political or not if that’s the case then no more. I don’t care what other folks beliefs are folks from all walks of life can and deserve participate in prepping but I do understand how this can be inflammatory which is why I said in the beginning it wasn’t allowed

Also goes to peoples perception as to what guns are for. Recreation and hunting are the furthest from some peoples minds. I shoot regularly, as in weekly. Some people shoot once a decade. What I need doesn't compare to what others need. Some people only see their need and think it applies to all. All the red meat in my freezer comes off the land. I prefer to eat a free range, organic, grass fed, renewable resource instead of store bought. I'm not prepping for "The Walking Dead". I'm prepping for my current lifestyle.

I think you pretty much nailed it there. We need to realize everybody’s needs are different and respect it.
    Interesting note:
I went completely Vegan for 10 months as part of a medical trial to see what effect it had on diabetes. The Dr’s let me have 3 servings of venison a week because it was basically fat free and all natural

So how did the vegan thing influence your diabetes? I've heard people claim that going Keto or Carnist helped theirs.

2 years ago 7.62x39 ammo went for 20 cents, sometimes as low as 13 cpr. Now it is 50 cpr and up.
Federal 5.56 could be found for 20cpr, now it is 50, 60 cpr and up.
PreCovid 9mm went for 15cpr, lower for steel and aluminum cased. Now they are 25cpr and up.
Bulk 22LR used to be 4cpr, now it is 10cpr.

And that’s a good thing. Gun owners and gun manufacturers are under attack and have to spend millions and millions to defend themselves from anti 2A zealots. I say buy as much guns, ammo and parts as you can. Help the companies defend themselves and stay in business. And besides the excise tax from the Pittman Robertson Act on guns and ammo goes directly to benefit and fund restoration and improvement of wildlife habitat and wildlife management and research. A win for wildlife and people who enjoy wildlife and hunting. So I say gun up and ammo up.

I used to buy a brick (500 rounds) of 22LR for eight bucks. I probably still have some.

I've used 80 year old (or more) ammo and never noticed a difference.

There's still WWII and Korean War surplus that shoots just fine.

Just getting away from processed foods and corn syrup helps a lot.

80 years if stored in AC building, more for ammo built to Warsaw Pact standards (sealed primer, sealed case mouth will do 100 years, sealed in metal tins on top of it, 100+).
People still shoot WWII US surplus 30-06, 45ACP, Soviet 1930s and 1940s Nagant and Tokarev ammo, 1950s Greek and Tutkish 30-06 and 308. And Greeks and Turks were not known for storing their ammo properly.
