For me, practically half the reason for owning a truck is to have 4x4. If I didn't have any regular need to drive over rough/muddy terrain or deep snow that requires 4x4 and ground clearance, I wouldn't own a truck.

Prerunners are fine if you are a carpenter or painter and need to carry your tools around town, or a furniture dealer or something that requires hauling stuff on dry pavement....but other than that, I really don't see the point of having a truck that has no 4x4.

I don't need 4wd, I don't go wheeling/crawling or into treacherous mud or snow, and for any moderate snow I have chains and drive carefully so the standard 2wd is fine. Maybe someday a prerunner at most but never 4x4, it's overkill. As a teenager, Dad took us camping to some gnarly places with deep sand and rocky hills, all in a 1978 Dodge Van 2wd. It had AT tires and posi-traction, but really he just knew how to drive -- slow & steady wins the race! My $0.02

I know but it makes it a hell of alot easier to do with a truck, I dont have to pull a trailer just to haul a refrigerator or my 4 wheeler, I just think it is funny how some people think that if you cant go through mud then your truck is useless.

Here where I live there is alot of people that have 4 wheel drive trucks (especially Z71's) and I guarantee you that most of them have never even seen mud on there tires.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
This has been a topic that has done nothing but stir trouble in the past and there is no need to revisit it.
