    A woman cut me off in traffic today, almost caused an accident. I leaned on the horn... and she didn't care. Nearby drivers just laughed at the puny sound. She wasn't intimidated. She didn't learn her lesson. I was sad, my truck was sad.

    Next time this happens I need that woman, just for a second, to experience the primal fear of knowing she has made a horrible mistake and is about to be crushed by a fucking train.

    These horns cannot come fast enough.

    So as we wait, I'll ask a dumb question:
    Has anyone considered running an alternating switch allowing you to use the Caddy horns OR the Meeper horn?

    Years ago I installed air horns on my Miata. Not being 100% sure of the legality at the time, I ran a toggle switch to the dash allowing me to switch back to the meeper in case the local constabulary questions where that noise came from.

    I actually have laid out that very idea. Another member had the same question and I worked up a layout that would allow it. Attached are 3 pictures that show stock setup, American auto horns set-up, and a hybrid set-up.

    And now that I have it laid out, I must admit, I probably wont every hook it up like this. I left the stock horns in place and I can just move the wire back over to the stock horns if I ever think I need to return to that configuration.

    Adding a switch to the equation may allow more than just "returning to stock".

    The added switch and relay would allow you to choose between a polite "meep meep" to for example urge an old woman that forgot green meant go, as well as the ability to switch to the "GET THE #@$#$%$^#$ OUTTA MY #@$#@$#@% WAY" horn setup.

    Best of both worlds. :thumbsup:

    Tangent thought... I swear I remember a friend of mine's dad back in the 70's had a Dodge of some sort with a horn ring on the steering wheel. If you hit one side, it was a "gentle" horn, the other side was a more aggressive horn, and hitting the ring in the center played them both melodically. When he would pick us up from wherever we were, he would do all three beeps and we thought it was funny.

    Anybody want to gift me/sell me (cheap) their stock 2nd gen horns they took off to upgrade?
    I mounted my horns in a dumb location when I Satoshi’d my grill and just found that rain comes off the top of my bumper and drips inside of my horn.
    Doh!
    Would upgrade to Bartmaster1234’s setup but it’s just not in the finances right now.
