Except for some from the '50s and '60s, I don't think I'll ever be old enough to drive a new Vette or Caddy

    All the time!!!
Well I'm 58, and have had vettes, merces, and many more toys, got rid of them. Now I drive what I'm comfortable in, and if anybody don't like it Good. I've still got my Jeep that been modified for ruff off road, but my favorite is my Tacoma to run in, and not worry about get-en back home. Oh Yeah! Tell your buddies when there's brake down to call You and you'll bring-em home. You know our age we don't care if ours are liked or not! It's kinda like these kids griping about chrome, and wanting everything black, but when your from the 50's, and 60's we kinda have a thing for chrome.

Well clearly. They are 9ers fans...

Realistically thought I don't see what age has to do with the truck. I'm not in that bracket, but how does wanting something more manuverable and better for trails while getting better MPGs than a tundra and being less expensive not applicable to someone older, as well as younger? Full size trucks are so over built and oversized few people actually need them and would be better suited to a midsize.

Status symbols are just dumb. I could give two *%#&s that you drive a luxury brand. I'd like to see the Lexus move a couch, or do a dump run. How about that load of mulch? If that is what your friend is worried about, just point to resale. Tacoma is #1 in the USA.

Haven't you seen the commercials for the 3rd gen? If you're not doing donuts you're watching young people have fun on dirt bikes and 4wheelers.

I've had 5 full-size pickups, but these days, I'm more interested in being able to fit into the garage on storm days/nights

I'm in my 40's and don't have any issues owning a Tacoma. Fourth Toyota. Had a 4Runner in my 20's, 1st gen Tacoma in my 30's, and 2nd gen Tacoma in '08 and now my current '13 Tacoma.
