We just had our first snowfall in East Vancouver. Just a dusting, but I am glad I swapped to my winters last week. Looks like it will be a good long winter, hopefully with lots of snow:D

Who needs winters when the top speed is 10kph lol.

Honestly Vancouver is so odd as a Albertan in winter. I'm not used to humid winters. It's damp all the damn time and you never get to see the sun. I hate it.

Snow tires make all the difference with all the hills. While everyone else is stuck at the bottom.. I go around and continue my trip to where ever I need to go.

minor, TRD skid plate, front recovery points, Regken mud flaps, rear diff breather, AC drain pipe extended. Upgraded sound with active sub woofer, tonneau cover, CB radio.

Check your local KIJIJI site. Here in Calgary it's full of ads with rims offered, between 400$ (steel rims) and 1200$ (set of decent tires on alloy rims).
IMO, it's way better to have set on rims.

Are there any particular steelies you’d recommend? I also am struggling to understand what the limits are on my wheel size… is 16x7 my only option if that’s my stock wheel and my winter tires are stock size? Can I go to 16x8? Do I need to ensure I have a certain offset?

Coastal wet snow like Vancouver gets compresses to ice as the first vehicle drives over it. Awful stuff. I drove from the west Kootenays to central interior today. 50/50 good and bloody horrible road conditions.

Weighed the truck before leaving with a full tank, 2940kg with winter weight an work great. Took my time.

we had people begging my wife and I not to try a road, 5 cars stuck at the bottom. I didn’t even stop, just hopped the curb and kept on going.

The right tool for the job is winter tires.

Honestly, I'm not playing with sizes of wheels, so have nothing to say. Personally will pick up stock size steelies.

If you find factory Tacoma, 4Runner, Tundra or Sequoia rims in a 6 lug 16" rims in steel or aluminum, they will bolt onto your truck. 15" will not fit over your front brakes.

17 fit too, generally 4Runner and fjc wheels have a touch more backspace that makes them sit nice.

    I got a nice set of 17" 4Runner alloys from a 2018. $350 with center caps & lug nuts.

I bought these off Kijiji back in June for my 22 Sport.I believe they are off a 2017 SR5. I cloned and installed Autel sensors and the Michelin X-ice I had on my 2020 Off-Road. Anxious to see if the sensors work when I put the tires on in a week or so.20220601_133006.jpg

If I didn't already have the above combo,I'd would buy a set of steelies and paint them LR. One of the members on here has done that and I think they look awesome

Today I installed my winter tires.Back in juneI bought a set of used SR5 wheels on kijiji and mounted the Michelin X-ICE I had on my 2020 Off Road with Autel sensors which I had cloned. My biggest concern was the sensor operation.Pleased to say they work and I like the wheels on the LR Sport.Jake approves too.20221113_113931.jpg 20221113_113941.jpg 20221113_113947.jpg
