I wear composite toe Ariats at work. Excellent comfortable work boot. Have not tried the non safety toe or casual boots. I assume they are pretty nice.

I’m not a fan of them. Had a pair for work a couple years ago after hearing how good they are. Less than a year the soles were worn out and the leather on the sides of my feet blew out. Was really hoping they’d last since I paid nearly $200 for them. I will say they were fairly comfortable tho

Just got a pair, super comfortable.
My first pair of shit kickers and they are good so far.
Actually had some foot pain and went away after wearing these for awhile.

That's disappointing. Any suggestions on a solid casual boot that won't break the budget?

Yeah I was very disappointed with them. Only other pair I’ve had worse luck with is Redback, a guy at work recommended them to me, said he’s worn the same pair for 5 years. They were the most comfortable boots I’d ever worn, less than a month out of warranty and a whole side fell apart on one boot.

Seems I’ve had best luck with Wolverine boots. Pair I’m on now has lasted over a year and a half and I paid $60-80 for them

Casual boots for me are ariats and twisted x.

I wore a pair of the ariat ramblers for a year before I finally bumped them to work boots and still got a solid 6 months out of them. Out the box they were the most comfortable boots Ive put on

The twisted x’s are ridiculous comfortable. Just started wearing them. Though they did have some break in involved

    Chinese cowboy boots. AYFKM?

I have several brands made in the US or Mexico, but there is no dang way I'm wearing a cowboy boot made in China.

Yes. US company that has all their boots made in China. It's not that I'm against Chinese products, but it just seems wrong for something like cowboy boots. Kinda like buying a US flag with a made in China label. It's not just Ariat that does it either.

Many boot manufactures have a line of made in USA boots at reasonable prices. I don't mind made in Mexico either, as many of the "USA" boots are actually made by Mexican day laborers in border towns. I figure they know how to make a good boot.

Sometimes it takes some looking to find out where they are made. Here is a list, but I'd still check the individual boots from the companies listed. It's not an all inclusive list, as I know Dan Post has a line of USA boots and they're not on there. https://usamadeproducts.biz/footwear-cowboy-boots.html

Edited to say never mind on Dan Post making USA boots. Looks like they are made in Mexico now, which I'm still OK with. I like their flex-sole boots for everyday wear.

Red Wing boots are well made IMO. Nice oily leather for long lasting rugged use and most of the time the sole can be replaced.
Sometimes on the inside of the boot it says where its made. Youd be surprised where some boots are made.
