Were you on the 19 headed south to the lake around 10am? If so, I may have seen you....I saw both a silver 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen in red I think....both with kayak haha.

Anyway....our group caught 2 largemouths, and 1 redear. The redear was good sized, the LMBs were maybe 9-13 inches. We used nightcrawlers (the only thing that worked), powerbait, spinners, lures, etc. How'd you make out?

Today, Lake Pleasant, about 3.5 hours of actual fishing. The water is super clear and it was pretty calm in the morning... thought is was perfect for sight fishing. Only saw 2 bass on their spawn beds... wtf! I am thinking maybe it's a little early still? Water at the top showed around 63 degrees... so I think 2-3 more weeks many more will be in the spawn. So nice out there, such a shame more bass weren't holed up in the shallows! Caught 2 smaller ones sight fishing, and a bigger one trolling about 20' down that spit the hook near the boat.

I grew up going to Apache with my Dad. Haven't actually fished there though in 20 years. I gotta go back...

    Good luck!

Well unfortunately I I got up to apache pretty late and wasn't able to do much fishing but I talked to a few people and they were doing alright. When I was out on the water I saw a bunch of fish jumping. The camping down there was pretty cool too. Going to plan another trip down there soon so I can actually fish.

Yeah maybe next time. I'm supposed to hit either Saguaro or Canyon (haven't decided) on the 9th.

Does anyone know if Lake Mary has anything good right now? I want to go up there for camping but I don't want to waste the trip if there isn't anything good

Just a bunch of old crap
Bartlett is hopping with action right now. Bass everywhere at SB cove, big cats starting to hit, and the shad are literally everywhere. Try a sundown trip and you'll nail largemouth after largemouth with swim baits, top water, buzz baits, etc.

Trying to figure out what to do tomorrow. It's a little weathery out. Wanted to sight fish, but not sure I want to go through the trouble of taking the boat out in sketchy conditions. Maybe do an ad-hoc 4x4 romp instead. Hmmmmm... decisions.

EDIT: Yep, did some 4x4 (#55)

Gonna hit up Pleasant again on Sunday, probably work Humbug or the Agua Fria arm. Also have a trip planned in a couple weeks to try some early season night fishing for crappie at Bartlett. Wish me luck!

Black canyon lake. Weather wasn't that great with all the wind but still caught some good size trout. d75e4bb81f89638f465198b65b77589c_86a53a10147fa40e9f3632bf5705d6f2254aed16.jpg
