Last time we did that at night Jason was flying up it so fast that his battery came loose and knocked his trans cooler line. I ended up towing him home to Peoria.

 

Ouch!

 

That whole area from the verde up to indian springs was huge for bikes and quads years ago. We would only go at night out of fear of hitting someone. There are so many trails in that canyon that is just stuffed with brush. Its hard to see people during the day. Ever since the area near the Verde was blocked off I stopped going.
Indian Springs will lead to FR42 if you go N from Bartlett road. Tgis is a trail that was just startingbto get repaired by some guys on ih8mud. We plan to hit it after October.

 

We ran into a couple of side by sides as well as a couple of bikes.

Looks like one of the climbs at Butcher or Sycamore

 

It is Butcher. First time out in months. I should get out more around Maricopa though...

 

For all of you that go to Butcher Jones, do you guys think my 2016 rwd Tacoma OR could make it out there? The truck is lifted and has A/T tires.

 

The trail out there is maintained to some extent, so you can cruise around some. You could even get to the waters edge if you want.

 

Ive witnessed prerunners get stuck at the entrance to Butcher in the deep sand.

I haven't been there in a year though, so it could be graded now.

 

Let's just say that my old truck didn't get stuck when we went out to Butcher. We were going pretty good speeds though.

 

If you had stayed with us after Sycamore when we crossed to Butcher, you would've that day. Greekbro got stuck but used the skinny pedal to get himself out.
That day there was a truck and trailer blocking the entrance which made you lose that precious momentum to get into the gates.

 

Gotcha.

This was a night run we did. Back when Pat had his taco still.

 

I looped from sycamore to four peaks to 3rd cove at butcher in 2wd with my locker on. Just keep your momentum up in the sand.

 

Had a good time on Casner Mtn Trail and Greasy Spoon outside Sedona with @Mike330R yesterday...Casner in particular is an incredibly scenic trail. Need to get more people up north to wheel. There's so much up here!

A few of mine:

 

He came to my house that night and traded out the steering shaft off my old truck for his welded one. He also swapped out the fan shroud, and a few other things. For that, he swapped out all 8 tires putting the ones on the old truck to the new one. It started sprinkling during that time too.
