Correct, no passes necessary for this trail.

    *UPDATE*
After reviewing the massive interest between, TW, Tundras, and T4Rs, it is likely we will have to make this $20 per vehicle for this event. This number may drop but for now $20 is a safe bet. @tubbsisland and I will have to discuss more about whether it will stay "per vehicle" participating, or if it should be "per person" participating in the Poker Run and BBQ.

As this is being coordinated, I suggest setting up a HAM frequencies for the event. Yes, not everyone has radios, but tons do and it will help encourage newbies to use the radio. If the main coordinators have a radio, having a freq for event questions and then setting up a freq for general BS. Nothing complicated, Maybe a repeater for driving in and then a simplex for event coordinator and a simplex for general event BS.

How big is the parking area around sheep' bridge? Sounds like there may be over 100 trucks.

Excellent point Chip! We will have at minimum our Baofeng handhelds like last time, and using different MURS frequencies. If you don't mind can you figure out which main repeater we should use and frequency? I have the MURS ones already

Alright so I have been monitoring the 4runner event I did for this and the number is over 50 with a couple duplicates, this run should be huge even with the normal 50% drop out rate.

This won't be nessassary. We will not be using any repeaters and just like last year will be operating in the 151 range since the vast majority of people with radios will not have their licenses I'm sure. There will be a frequency posted for attendees to use and an unlisted freq for event organizers.

There will be no cap for this event. Commitments are final 5 days prior and should a cost be associated it will be due on the 15th. With a little generosity from our sponsors we should have plenty of food and each truck will get to take something home regardless of if they won the poker run or not

    J/k
I'm scheduled to work that day. :(
There may be a slim chance of being able to trade my shifts with a coworker... if so, I'm definitely in!

Not to be a pain, but teaching proper use of radios is important.

MURS is limited to 2 watts. It is not the coordinators responsibility to make sure others fallow the rules, but they need to set the example. MURS at 2 watts is very limited in range, only a couple of miles. MURS for individual groups on the run will work, but for reaching certain points, further away, it isn't, unless you up your power to an illegal level.

For driving in, there are a few repeaters that licensed people can talk on and non-licensed can monitor. Suggesting a repeater, like Mt Ord Metro Link, will help people get in sync and know were they can find help if they need it.

There are many folks with Boefangs that don't have licenses, they need to be shown the benefits of getting a license, which is really easy and cheap. This could be a great event for showing those on the fence, as they can listen all day long, which sometimes is more fun than talking.

If I get the day off the goat will be in tote!
