No grief given just sayin if they ask I tell.
My last stop a DPS scooter cop asked and I told him where my S&W 36 was and he took it with him to run the numbers.
When he returned it all the rounds were in the bottom of the holster.
No problem, after signing the ticket and returning the paperwork to him he says, " don't try and reload it, that is how people get shot"

I felt I had been very respectfull and that comment was a bit out of line I thought. Oh well.
I went to fabulass traffic school and did my time to avoid points.

All things considered I got off easy, I have heard of folks getting thier pistols back stripped down and or dropped on the ground as the officer tried to field strip them so all things considered I had nothing to complain about.

I second getting training but will add...get the RIGHT training. In my opinion. most CCW classes are too tame. There is a whole more to shooting a gun then what they teach.

The USAF is uber gay (at no time can you move with a loaded weapon) on how they teach those of us that are not cops or AFSOC types...so we pursue training outside the AF. We attended a pistol/carbine course in Vegas. They train only military and did an awesome job. We had two veteran Vegas SWAT dudes...but they have Ranger, SEAL, PJ, and Delta guys as instructors. Did all kinds of shit with both weapons..by weeks end, we were pretty good...but it is a perishable skill.

Get the right training and keep shooting.

Kinda curious, everytime I interact with police I'm asked if I have any weapons on me (guess I look shady?, idk), is a knife something I should mention. I almost always have a buck knife on me and I keep one in my center console.
