    Hey nice truck man, Question: Did you have to do the cab mount chop to fit the 295's? And, how much plastic did you have to trim? I really want to throw the 295's on my whip yo.

    He doesn't get on here much anymore. He got rid of his truck. But I asked him the same questions a year or so ago. He didn't cut his cab mount and the plastic trimming on the front fenders is minimal. He also had a 3'' lift. He said it only rubs a little sometimes at full lock on incline/decline.

    I ended up getting 295's too. As far as fitting my 295's, everything he said was right. I have a full 3'' lift. I didn't cut the cab mount. Just had to trim a little plastic at the front and back of the fender, nothing that you can see unless you look in there. It only rubs a tad if I'm at full lock on an inline/decline; which is about 1% of normal driving. You can always have the cab mount cut if that bothers you, but it's not hurting anything. The only other thing I can think to add is having 4.5 backspaced wheels.

    I almost got the same wheel and tire set up. Rims, 17x9 Artillery, are still on order and I went 285/70R17 Trail Grapplers because what these guys are not telling you is that you will rub the fuck outta the cab mount with a standard chop under compression when wheeling. No cab mount chop? Hope you don't wheel much. 285s still require the cab mount chop to eliminate rubbing when the wheel is turned during full compression. Sure if you have a mall crawler or won't compress your suspension unless going straight you wont have a problem. You gotta have 285/70R17s if you want to TOTALLY eliminate rubbing under ALL conditions. I did not want to chop my cab mount INTO the hole or accept rubbing on turns under compression... so I had to go 285 instead of 295. Up side? 295s have a lower speed rating, weigh more, cost more fuel, cut more power, and cost $100 more per set. .4" in height and .16" in width just was not worth it for me. Whatever you choose, I'd seriously look at over 33" tires on people's ACTUAL trucks before deciding. The .25" extra I would have to cut does not sound like much till you see what it means for what actually needs cutting.

    First off, use paragraphs. Please. It makes posts, including the one you just made, easier to read.

    You make valid points, but your logic only applies to those with the exact SAME suspension components as you. At full compression, I barely rubbed the cab mount. That being said, when I had 285s, those also rubbed. Though, they certainly rubbed less.

    I chose the 295s because when I selected the Nittos nearly 2+ years ago, Nitto was not producing anything smaller than the 295s. I was able to get a fantastic deal on the Nittos and ultimately pursued a purchase of 5 Trail Grappers in 295. If I had to do it all over again, I would have changed nothing.

    Again, thanks for your input and don't forget next time you want to junk up my (old) thread... use paragraphs.

    People (DevL) that junk up my threads without using proper writing structure, e.g., paragraphs... Pisses me off.

    A big-gas-guzzlin'-V8 2007 Denali. We still have the X5 too.

    Biding my time until I get find my next major build -- whatever that might be.

    Here's the Denali. If you see me rolling around the Valley, feel free to wave at me (middle finger wave excluded);

    Sadly, I got rid of the M3. Stupid decision. I'm still kicking myself over that move. :mad:

    The good news is that we consolidated from 3 vehicles down to 2. Insurance was brutal with 3 vehicles.

    Next major move? An attempt to stop buying "toys" and buy a new house. My girlfriend (of forever) has been ill for nearly 2 years, so I've been busy keeping her spirits up. My hobbies and interest have taken a backseat to her health and happiness.

    IMO, a waste of money. Spend money elsewhere. The stock Toyota intake is pretty damn good already. If anything, work on your headers back.
