Working on those next! Well, maybe after a roof rack we've already started.

Those are to attached to your OEM plastics to keep it all sturdy after removing the center section

Fully welded up to the point where the wings are added on.

I'm going to pickup an argon tank for that, don't want spatter and slag all over the place.

My welds look pretty decent tho.

Hardest part so far was dealing with the gap between the winch tray and the outer cover. It's no much, but it's difficult to fill. I'm going to have to do 2 passes to get good fill on my stitch welds there.

I didn’t know where they went either so they got tossed. Haven’t had any issue without them yet with bumper and wings installed.

Yep, I'd go for the C25 gas (75/25 Ar/CO2) to get less splatter than straight CO2 but get a better weld than straight Ar (for mild steel).

    Yea I know it's a blend, it's just a habit to say "argon" when really it's a 2 or 3 part blend.

I have another spool on the way!

    Thanks

Depending on what size welder u have, u might be better off w flux cored wire. The polarity is different and u get better penetration than solid wire. Might be a moot point but something to consider.

I'm using a Hobart 140, and yes I would need to flip the polarity around.

Shouldn't have an issue welding anything on the front face of the bumper, except the 1/4 shackle blocks. Those will get flux-cored.

I just don't want to spray antispatter all over the face of the bumper, and then have to clean it all off. I guess it doesn't matter because the whole thing will get sanded so.... Moot point all around.

I just love the puddles you can make with gas. Harder to see with fluxcore.

Did you buy the warranty on that HF winch?

Seems like it's the same exact winch as the other China specials on Amazon, but with the option of warranty exchange no questions asked.

You just gotta for out another 1-200 to get the warranty :(

Thinking of just going with the x20 with synthetic line myself.
